Why don't you believe in Evolutionary Theory?

Seriously, what's the deal here? Do you guys not believe that dogs can be bred for certain traits either? I'm fascinated by this...

Another thread aiming to bait believers. Except I don't think this one will find any takers.

You sound like Seinfeld. Maybe if you made an attempt at an intelligent post, you would get the effect you desire.

Why would you think OP is trying to "bait believers"? Most "believers" have no problem with modern biology.

I know most believers have no problem with evolution - which is precisely why this is misplaced bait and I said she'd have no takers.

Believer in God and evolution here. I have two friends I've met over the years and they are adamant about the whole young earth, 6 days, rested on the 7th, woman from the rib, creation thing. They completely believe in the bible as the "inerrant word of God" and are just as amazed that I believe the earth is billions of years old, there is evolution, etc. It's a bridge we can never cross, but other than that they are great friends and wonderful people to have in your corner.

Exactly, the OP is speaking to the fringe and the only fringe on this site is the far left who probably believe in the Mayan Prophecies of the demise of earth in 2012.

As you have stated in your topic, it IS a theory.

A lot of things are considered scientific theory before being considered scientific fact. Like gravity. Germ theory. Etc. In science theory does not mean "random guess".

I hate the term "believers" like they have some frickin monopoly on having beliefs. Like Crash Davis, I believe in a lot of things:
"Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days."

PP, may I ask how old your friends are? Having read your post, I imagined a bunch of old ladies in a retirement home. I find it hard to believe that someone younger that 70 can be adamant about '6 days' and 'the rib'..
