The Trump women and their fashion mishaps thread part deux

I think the cropped pants/heels combo is a way to emphasize their (version of) femininity.

Isn't it obvious? Trump likes ankles and calves.

Yep. Always best to show a little skin for that type of boss.

I agree but I think it’s more than that. It’s a way to look their version of professional but not threatening. I think they know that to their base they’re more palatable in these positions as long as long as they look feminine.

Replying to myself to add: they also just have terrible taste so can’t do it right.

It’s a weird one, isn’t it? Relative to regular length pants, cropped pants have always looked a little juvenile. I’d go on, but I don’t want to be removed for being political.

I think they want to make it very very clear they are wearing stilettos. If the pants were longer, you might possibly miss it.

And kidneys.

Stilettos—which most Trump women are not really meant for walking; they are meant for posing (like under a lamppost). It’s why you see women wearing stilettos at red carpet events or even on talk show guided on the arm of someone so they don’t trip or fall. If they’re wearing stilettos to work, they’re pretty sure of the terrain they will encounter.

More cropped pants but I actually think the shoes, shirt, and pants work. And, from afar, looks like at least the eye makeup is not overwhelming.

Agreed. Remember how much conservatives made fun of Hillary’s pantsuits? Well, Trump women may be wearing pants and jackets (I.e. pantsuits), but they’re feminine and non-threatening.

I like the crop of pants for a summer look. Not with stilettos but with a certain sandal or pump that matches the occasion. I don't know that one look is more palatable or one look is more professional. I'm in Ivanka's age group so my pantsuits are definitely less mannish.

I seem to remember posts on here praising the fact that Nancy Pelosi still rocks stilettos. Her tapered pants here would also look better cropped. And that tank under her blazer looks like an undershirt.

No way. She looks powerful, rich, pulled together, a little glam, and totally in charge. The Trump women look like they are doing office cosplay, badly, and are really just hoping Trump will look up from his twitter and say their kidneys look good today.

This is fine (dare I say even tasteful and appropriate!) for an outdoor, summertime event that will involve lugging boxes.
