Higher prices are coming. The admin bought time with the SPR release but the below chart should scare everyone with the end of the SPR release coming in under 90 days. The only reason oil (and gas prices) don’t climb big time will be because of worldwide economic recession. We really are in a no win situation.

Same old MAGA broken record.

Fear, fear, and more fear. The GQP playbook.

So you’re glad it’s down to almost double what it was? Odd.

You want to go back to lockdown? Who are you people?

I wasn't in "lockdown" at any point during COVID. I shopped. My kid did a sport (masked). We traveled to the beach and went skiing.

My point is that it isn't $7.00/gallon. Chicken Little needs to stop.

Person with no recollection of gas prices in 2011-2014.

Crude oil and gas are purchased and sold through a global marketplace. The SPR impact on price at the pump was negligible. In the meantime, private reserve stocks have been increasing. But given your concerns, why didn’t TFG top-out the SPR when oil was at a historic low and tankers of crude were anchored offshore for months on end without a market?

Republicans swore up and down that releasing some of the SPR would have no impact on prices. Why should we believe them now that they're swearing up and down that closing the SPR will raise prices?

Umm, SPR releases have been roughly equal to about a little over 1% of worldwide demand. 1% over or under supply has historically led to material swings in the price of oil. TFG absolutely tried to top off the SPR during the COVID bottom but congressional democrats blocked it. It was a really short sighted decision.

SPR release is going to be done around October/November. If we aren’t on a recession by then, oil prices will almost certain return to their pre-summer climb upwards.

$4.50 or $5.50 or $6.50 per gallon - at this point, what difference does it make?? It is really not very much money at the end of the day honestly.

And I don't understand the argument there are supposedly people who "cannot" afford even $7 /gal. I mean, if they really can't afford $7/gal., why not just buy a Tesla?

Spoken like someone truly out of touch with the middle class. You realize the median HHI in the country is only like $65k or so? For a household where both adults work, that means your typical salary for someone is about $40k or less. Try telling people who make $40k or less that $4, 5, 7/gal gas 'is really not very much money at the end of the day honestly'. Yeah, they should go out and buy a $50k car. It's so easy.

You make me sick.
