Its actually a reference to Homegrown players which is a rule in pro leagues that allows clubs to bring on more roster players than normally allowed if theyre from a local club. The intent is for clubs to get an advantage if they bring up local players. This is because local players can generate interest from fans in the area which potentially brings more in through the gate.
How much do clubs generally charge you a year to be a homegrown player in other countries?

About the same as all MLS Acadamies (except DC United who forces players to pay travel costs)

Sent to my buddy who’s a director for ECNL club.

But somebody a few pages back said that beginning in January 2026 - USCS teams can have 4 Fall birthdays "play down". Guess these are two different subjects? One is for this fall and one is for next spring?

Did someone say MLSN can start their own BY u-little ecosystem?

This is an organization that still haven't announced the names of its tiers , 1 month away from the start of season.

The person has been writing a fantasy novel about MLSN and NWSL destroying ECNL and all of the other leagues that went 8/1.

No, multiple people are pointing out that there are many different potential outcomes. You obviously have your ECNL hat screwed on tight and want a specific outcome to occur. Which is odd because why do you care what other leagues do?

I don't care what MLSN does, we have experience with both leagues. Why does calling out MLSN ineptitude bother you so much?

Its just so onvious that you have an irrational hatred for MLSN.

Sorry your kid got cut from the team. Maybe playing at a lower more appropriate level will help them out. Just think how lucky you would be if your kid had an Aug birthday and they could play down with kids a grade below them in school when ECNL switches to SY.

You are such a mouther breather you can't even spell check your one sentence reply's. MLSN isn't going to give your kid a spot because you are on the internet white knighting for them.

Wait a minute, I figured out why you want MLSN to switch to SY so badly. You think that it will give your kid another chance after being cut if MLS switched from BY to SY. I'm sorry to be the one to inform you be MLSN already has biobanding. If they thought your kid had potential they wouldn't have cut them.

Lol you still haven't given us your glowing example of how great MLSN is for you and your kid....they won't be saving you from riding the end of the bench once registration is switched.

Someone is making things up and trying to wish it into reality. Thats the problem with an anonymous forum.

I believe U15 trapped players are eligible to play U14 during their high school season but that’s it. Curious to see what the completion rule changes will be.

If MLS build a wall it will make ECNL look like rec soccer.

This is not true. MLS has pathways into pro teams. If youre a youth and want to play in MLS in America you need to play in MLSN. This is the hook. MLS Acadamies dont need to conform to anyone else because players will conform to them for the opportunity to play at the highest level.

Luckily most kids don’t want to play in MLS, most choose the college route or just want to play at a high level for club. By MLS being more exclusive with age cutoff BS and closed leagues you will make it less appealing for the masses and be limited to Jan-July birthdays whose mommy and daddy can fork over the cash and can drive and fly them everywhere.

The 2nd tier should be named "MLS Next Next" .

It is aspirational which helps opening the check books of the parents.

MLS Next Too (much money)

How is MLSN p2p any different than any other high level league from a cost perspective?

Not even close, we are all just bemused by your 1 person campaign to get MLSN to stay BY. I hope it works out for you bc you are so emotionally attached that I think you’ll jump off a bridge if it doesn’t.

You might want to invest in a mirror.

Full disclosure, my daughter is November born at an ECNL club and we may look to move to a GA club that two of her friends are at next year, but if GA doesn’t switch than we’ll likely stay. That’s my interest. I know my kid is a loser and will never play for NWSL, blah blah blah. Nevertheless, I’m not the one foaming at the mouth contriving all these fantastic scenarios and conspiracy theories and lashing out at everyone. You seriously need help.
