It's annoying to listen to and Kane is well past his prime. People don't have to commit heinous acts to be asked to move on.

So you know nothing and admit to talking out of your ass? That makes sense. The ratings have been great. And have been posted a million times in this thread. But continue on to post random stuff that you then admit to knowing nothing about...

Oh hey, John

LOL. No. You don’t like people calling you out for talking out of your ass. That’s ok.

PP you quoted. I wasn’t the OP that was “talking out of [his/her] ass.” No one else would be falling over themselves to talk about how great the ratings have been, John.

Yup. You caught me. I’m John. Your detective skills are amazing.

Another troll post alluding to “something” but providing no details. I’m sure you work in radio and know what “the powers in iHeart” did. 🙄

Yeah can't provide details because #1 I don't know them and #2 again I still want to work in radio and don't really want to be blackballed. Let's just say when I met with the regional president of iHeart 4 years ago at a station launch party in a different market and told her I use to intern with Kane her response was "Oooooh, how was that?" and she didn't exactly ask it in a good way.

So again you know zilch and just want to keep posting you work in radio...

I told you what the regional president said to me. Even my SVP at the time would say "Yeah Kane has some...demons". If you don't want to believe me, that's fine. Don't really care. Just repeating what was said to me.

That was 4 years ago, according to you. Even if they “knew” he had “demons,” why’d it take them so long to fire him and/or what happened to suddenly terminate him?

Why did NBC protect Matt Lauer for so long? Companies protect those they believe help their brand and make money. If Elvis Duran was doing some shady ish you think iHeart would do anything right now? Probably not. Let's not forget that at one point Kane was pretty damn powerful on that station and in the company. Maybe finally the company was tired of covering for him or maybe finally they had no choice.

Wait earlier you said to not compare him to Matt Lauer. Now it fits your narrative? You keep claiming the company was covering for Kaine but you won’t say what they were covering for? Because you don’t know, right? Just supposedly what some VP whispered to you 4 years ago. Oh and that he was a yeller.

Am I the only one who has never really cared about what happens behind-the-scenes on the show (they're co-workers, not best friends), but just wants to know where Pete is headed? I just liked him as an on-air personality and hope he gets another gig (show). *shrugs*

He has a nice house.

Good riddance. Hot 99.5 needed a new morning team, as it had gotten stale, and most likely “the morning show” is a band aid. From a cost perspective, it is likely 99.5 will use Elvin Duran from Z100 as it is a proven syndicated morning show, but they will keep a small local presence for market-specific news and events. It works with Bobby Bones on the iHeart country stations and saves them a ton of money.

Late last year, Hot's sister station in Raleigh NC let go their longtime morning guy who had been with the station since 1992, under different ownerships and several different cast members.

The show continued with the remaining cast members for the time being, but they recently hired a guy from a station in Norfolk to co-host with the cast from the last show.

I wonder if that's going to be the case for Hot? I mentioned earlier that I could see some of the other affiliates picking up Elvis Duran or maybe even Ace & TJ, but I don't see them piping Elvis in here and calling it a day.

I could see that. The local news stations did that a few years ago and there was a shuffling of people around to various networks as anchors were deemed to expensive. I’m sure in the 10 years since that’s happened the salaries have increased again.

I’m surprised how many posts are on here semi defending Kane. There’s been enough said about him for me to believe it. Not just from Crazy Danni. Sarah Fraser is a reputable, honest, decent person and she said he was abusive to Natasha and her and Samy. There was a lot more going on than just yelling.

Like what? That’s what people have been asking for over and over and all we here is some intern’s gossip from years ago that is a big nothing burger. What type of abuse did Sammy and Sarah experience?

That’s exactly what I want to know. Aside from a bitchy attitude and someone yelling at you what was abusive? That describes a few of my past department heads from a few of my last commands. We’ve all been there right?

No one is going to talk. Large corporations and their NDAs and settlement agreements are very tight.

However, the radio industry has a LONG trail of bodies: a-holes, addicts, and abusers. Kane isn’t special, but rather the last (handful) of a dying breed. It’s one positive outcome of music and morning show streaming.
Radio isn’t god, and we no longer have to put up with narcissistic addicts controlling the airways.

If no one is going to talk, then all the comments alluding to “abuse” “narcissism from his former coworkers (and a random intern) need to stop. There is zero value added with all these vague comments.
