Taylor Swift has not officially commented on this hot mess. Her khaleesi has has her silenced.

He’s clearly trying to throw props to Blake and not let on that there is this huge rift because this was recorded the day after the premiere when they made him and his family view the movie in the basement.

But at about the 16:30 mark he is asked about Taylor Swift’s role in casting of young Lily and he says he “brought in her casting tape to Blake AND TAYLOR…and they were both like ‘Yes! Her!’ —And that’s a true story!”

But the news article (TMZ?) today insists that Taylor only met Justin that one time at RR and BL’s place. And she had nothing to do with the movie.
Seems a weird thing for JB to lie about (but also weird that he followed the statement with “and that’s a true story!”) Obviously someone repeated the story to the Young Lily actress though because she revealed that someone told her that Taylor Swift handpicked her.

So either JB and maybe BL are lying about Taylor being there and choosing or approving of young Lily casting or Taylor’s sources are misinformed.

That anecdote is super odd because it makes it seem like JB is lying, either in that interview about Taylor being involved in the casting, or in his lawsuit about his interactions with Taylor. I'm inclined to think the anecdote about the casting is a lie (some kind of "lore" that they decided to pretend was true for some reason) because the texts with Lively in his lawsuit really seem to indicate he was a bit overwhelmed/intimidated by meeting Taylor at Lively's apartment.

That's just odd.

I bet he gave the tape to BL to watch and BL came back the next day and gushed about how “TAYLOR and I both love this girl!”
So maybe even JB believes this to be “a true story” because he knows BL is friends with TS and so why would he have had any reason to think BL wasn’t being honest about watching the tape with Taylor….
He could have been so genuinely enthusiastic about it himself that maybe HE was the one to tell Isabella Ferrerra (the young Lily actress) that even Taylor Swift wanted her for the role?

I feel like it could have been a lie that he didn’t know was a lie.
And I feel like BL could have just been name-dropping early on as a demo of her powerful connections. And maybe she never thought it would be retold.

^obviously all conjecture of course.

But it’s strange.
I don’t think Taylor would deny it if it could be disputed at this point.

Don’t makes sense that this could have been a name-drop attempt that snowballed into lore.

Baldoni, 41, alluded that she was referring to Swift when he texted Lively about her script revisions, writing, “I really love what you did. It really does [help] a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor).”

This text from Justin to Blake shows that Justin felt some kind of pressure from both Ryan and Taylor and it was probably going on the whole time they filmed.

+1
This also makes sense as to why JB says “it’s a true story!”
Do you think it was just something he was told and naively believed to be true, and upon repeating it, he subconsciously tended to emphasize that he believes it to be a true story?

This entire thing is so immature. Are all of these players including JB majorly stunted? This is just all so unbelievable and ridiculous. The film looks so awful. Who would ever entertain these idiots?

Yes.

No. Not TS officially.
Just a “trusted source” via TMZ article today insisted that she met Justin in passing at BL and area apartment as he was leaving a meeting, and that was the one and only time they met.

Of course TS is not going to actually affirm or deny anything. That would be dumb because she might have to be deposed.

I believe Justin. This is just weird and either Blake or Taylor lied.

But his story in the interview is consistent with Lively's (and the actress playing young Lily's) that Taylor had a role in casting her. And it's inconsistent with how he describes his interaction with her in his lawsuit.

I don't think it wholly discredits him but it sounds like maybe the movie wanted to create this story that Taylor helped cast young Lily for some reason and he played along with it? It's weird.

Maybe Taylor is trying to downplay her
involvement at this point?

Well that’s a given.
I wouldn’t want to be deposed by attorney Freedman if I were TS.

Yes.

I mean, Taylor Swift? My 9 year old would love to join in on this fun. Who over the age of maybe 15? is thinking about Taylor Swift?! Really. RR is way too old for this crap, he could be a grandfather at this point. BL was his downfall for sure.

That's exactly what I think happened. Blake hasn't been trustworthy so far. It's very likely she lied to Justin like she did about the rooftop scene being written by Ryan.

Are Bluey and Miss Rachel also involved somehow? How about Peppa Pig?

Yes.
Way too much time on my hands due to injury lately, but I spent hours reading through the website that Baldoni’s lawyers launched that shows alllllll the texts and messages.
BL appears to have spent months and months trying to increase her role and influence from actress to co-writer to editor, then demanding producer credit and then eventually when they tried to draw the line and she didn’t immediately get what she wanted, she apparently threatened not to return to work and then later threatened to opt out of promoting the film. She kept moving the red line over and over again until Justin’s name was removed from the movie and she was permitted to do her own edit.

The one huge mistake that the Wayfarer production company made as far as I can see is that they allowed her to start filming without a signed contract! Like she literally did NOT sign her actress contract so when she made all those threats they had nothing to stand on because she hadn’t actually agreed to anything.
They were figuratively held hostage and at the mercy of her goodwill, or lack thereof.
And that’s a really dumb, costly error.

I think Blippi also wrote a few songs for this film.
