Meanwhile, Youngkin with no track record or experience has firmly attached himself to the fringe elements in society who still think the election was stolen. He says whatever he needs to get votes.

It seems to many of us that Youngkin’s business experience and pragmatism might be more of an advantage that McAuliffe’s record as a political bag man whose career has been defined by his desire to benefit personally from his political connections.

Youngkin’s business experience was literally putting working class people out of work to further enrich the wealthy.

But the Carlyle is a good restaurant!

As a long time Democrat voter in Reston area, this is the conclusion I've come to. I'm going to vote for Youngkin. I thought my DH would fall over when I told him that -- then he said that he's had the same thought as well. It really is all about the so-called culture wars and what is going on in schools. We have young kids and I don't like a lot of what I'm seeing.

This. This. This. Keep the loony bin away from my kids please. I just want regular old nice normal (open) school.

Schools are the big issue this year and a lot of moderates are pissed at closed schools in 2020/2021 and loony social policies.

Well, schools are open and if you’re mad at schools, vote out school board members. Don’t install an election conspiracist who supports book banning as Governor.

The “loony bin” is full of the nuts screaming and threatening school officials.

You have that backwards. We now have documentation.

What books would he ban? Do tell.

Whatever books he thinks might get him a vote from RWNJs.

He put that lady from the FCPS school board meeting who wanted to ban books from libraries on one of his ads. I would assume he agrees with her.

He has also voiced support for TX and FL school laws. Have you seen what's happening in Texas schools because the state law anti-"CRT" law now restriicts what teachers can teach and what books can be offered? https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/southlake-texas-anti-racist-book-school-library-rcna2734

We can't know exactly what he will do because he is trying to pander to the extreme right while pretending he is moderate. He only tells the truth when he gets caught on video like he did about abortion -- he told that person he can't say it now because he's trying to win but that he will go on the offense against abortion if elected. Maybe we need someone to approach him individually with a camera to find out which books he wants to ban.

Youngkin has vowed to ban "CRT" on his first day of office. That's banning books just like in TX. I hope all the "moderates" who say they're voting for Youngkin have paid attention to what these ridiculous laws are forcing upon teachers and schools in Texas.

Early voting trends and polls establish that Youngkin will lose by around five points. Republicans are done in VA.

Good. I hope he does, although I doubt it will be that simple. CRT is not a "thing," but a concept and unfortunately, one that has infiltrated all areas of curriculum. He won't be able to simply "ban CRT," although he could orchestrate more reason, balanced reviews of things like curriculum and text books, and work to root out ANY implicit bias.

Sure. You keep telling yourself that. No one believes you.

Sounds like you are a big supporter of “CRT”.
