Another gunman, another elementary school

Wow. Good thing he did.

I'm pretty sure he was stopped (i.e., killed) by a good guy with a gun, but understand your point.

Unforunately that "good guy with a gun" took over an hour to arrive - meanwhie the cowards with guns just stood there and played with their d*cks while children died.

Oh, yeah? And where were the brave armed Texans that were supposed to protect from bad guys with guns. Texas has more guns than any other state probably. Where were they?

Abbott wanted them to buy more guns but they didn’t comply.

Liberal antics? That’s laughable. The problem at hand is coward cops and too many guns.

Everything you read about this horrendous tragedy is sickening. Coward cops. Sick 18 year old able to get two high powered firearms. No security. Children begging for help. Children blown apart and beyond recognition. F ing NRA and the same gun-obsessed lines.

It truly makes me hate our country.

And everything the political establishment in Texas did to make sure it happened.

Our country is so effed up that our President and Vice President are splitting up and tag teaming mass shooting events like they are parents with two kids with soccer games at the same time.

That's not fair. The Uvalde police/school police held active shooter training in MARCH at the High School. The training specifically instructed officers to take out the shooter because kids have nothing but crayons for defense while officers have bullet proof vests and guns. They were trained. They were aware kids were pleading for help. They froze and decided their own lives were more valuable than the kids' lives. They were cowards when it counted.

It's not about being underpaid or not having training. If protecting the lives of little CHDREN is not enough to motivate you as a police officer, then it's fair to conclude NOTHING would motivate you to be courageous....and that means you aren't fit for the job.

The "good guys" with guns just stood around doing nothing -- and some were even holding back the parents who had guns (at least one grabbed one at the barber shop he was at, he was a CPB guy off duty).

The point is that arming people doesn't solve all problems b/c sometimes you actually have to have courage PLUS a gun. Which obviously didn't exist for the first hour. I'm just totally sick about this. I can not imagine how raw the rage must be for the parents -- especially of the girl who called 911 (and others) -- little Amerie. My god. She's taking mature action to get help over and over -- and no one is coming? Total cowards. I would go insane on them if that happened to my 10 yr old.

This. Your last paragraph is what is hitting me so hard, thinking about kids waiting and calling for adult help, and the adults knowing and letting them die. The worst betrayal.

Just wanted to corrct that reporting now is that Amerie did try to call 911, and she later died. But it appears that two other girls got through to 911. Possibly Miah, and another girl, both who reportedly survived.

And men. Men are the problem. But since we can’t get rid of them, let’s just get rid of all the killing toys they’re not responsible enough to have access to.

+1. The teachers who gave their lives to save children are underpaid. The Texas cops are cowards.

I agree. Get rid of their weapons first.

This really had a profound affect on me and my family. We switched sides.

I don’t believe you. Sorry.
