How Often Do You Wash Your Hair?

Anonymous
It has been almost six years since my hairdresser told me not to wash my hair everyday and I have stuck to it religiously...with outstanding improvement in its appearance...but I am miserable the second day because I workout and am fairly active...and I just feel dirty. Does anyone have any suggestions to make it smell better the second day??

I wash mine every other day, and have also noticed a big improvement. It's thicker, with more body. I used to have the saddest, limpest, slowest-growing hair, and now it's approaching super-model quality. It's the only super-model thing about me, of course.

As for day 2, I can only recommend that you ditch the workouts. I don't exercise at all, and my hair looks great on day 2.

I also wash it usually every other day or every three days, depending on how active I am. Usually, if I exercise the day after I wash it with shampoo, then I just wash it with water, without shampoo. This way the sweat runs out of and it's a bit cleaner, then I usually wash it the next day with shampoo.

I know this isn't whaT you are asking but I wanted to share a little tip with you. My hairstylist told me that a new study showed if you don't Wash your hair for 14 days the natural oils yr hair produces leaves it healthy and looking it's best. So I decided to try it, as gross as this may sound. I have to say my hair has never looked so luscious (After washing it) and healthy.it had a glow and a bounce and was super soft.

Every other day. I wear a shower cap on the second day if I need to shower (such as after workouts). Usually my hair is ok but if I feel I need it, I use a dry shampoo. I use the Rene Furterer dry shampoo. Something less pricey may work well, I just happened to pick this up at the salon.

OK that is so gross! You work out and don't wash your hair after?

I work out daily and wash my hair daily, I could not begin to imagine leaving the gym in the AM without washing my hair. I've seen a few women who do it, one who even blow dried the sweat off her head before going to work. Doesn't your head itch?

Some people don't have time to wash their hair daily as they don't have 3 hours a day to get it back in decent shape. Furthermore, some peoples hair would be in very poor condition if they washed it daily. There is nothing gross about it, get over yourself.

I exercise and dont was my hair after it always. I put it up in a bun and naturally dont sweat that much so it only gets a bit sweaty around my scalp line,

I will just spray some nice smelling product in and re-blow it really quick for the next day. And use perfume. It does not smell...trust me, my DH would tell me.

Well, I wet mine down with a daily shower, but I only shampoo about every 3 days. It's in much better shape since I started doing that (about 5 years ago).

I wash every other day, but work out daily, so shower daily.

I will take a washcloth and wash gently around my scalp line to get rid of the sweat there, but I cannot wash my hair every day without it turning into straw.

I wash my hair every other day and I work out daily. I just blow dry and re-style my hair after a work out-- or simply pull it up. I have naturally dry hair so the natural oils actually keep my hair from becoming straw-like, which is what would happen if I washed it after every workout.

PP, it realy isn't gross and I bet you, you would have no idea what days are my "shampoo days" and which are not. In fact, I get compliments on my hair on the "non-shampoo days" all the time.

I usually wash it everyday because my hair will otherwise get very greasy. Sometimes I skip a day and put it up but it looks pretty terrible. I only do that if I'm just going to be at home.
