Will Whittle be around next year?

And who is going to teach them? You expect the current volunteer teachers to just keep showing up for four or five more months?

This is the kind of pipe dream that has made the inevitable end so messy.

Teachers are actively looking for other jobs.

It is quite revealing in all of CW's missives regarding potential capital providers that he never names any of them. It's always a "major" investor or a "significant" player. And while some level of confidentiality is understandable for a deal that has not yet signed, the coyness even after declaring he has a signed deal has always been revealing.. In short - don't think there has EVER been anyone real that has poked around beyond high level diligence

The only one that got named was Cottonwood and that was after they gave him the stiff arm

Classic Rich People privilege. They made a poor choice and expect someone to bail them out rather than live with the consequences of their actions.

No child is owed a private school education.

Not a Whittle apologist here by any means, but you are very wrong here. There are really only a few very wealthy families. Everyone else was “normal”. Just your average joe family that got duped by the dream. The original pitch of the school was pretty awesome. And the families knew they were taking a chance on something new and exciting.

Zelensky just said he’s going to pay Ukranian soldiers 100,000 hryvnia per month. That’s about $3,300, more than 6x avg income: “Not just in order to say “Thank you”, but to show how truly indebted Ukraine is to them. And it will remain this way until the war ends.”

Whittle teachers should take up the higher cause - and actually get paid.

This is true. And here's a fact that should stir up outrage among the remaining parents more than their misplaced ire towards DCUM -- CW never intended to target "normal" families. The goal was to pack this school full of the very "fortunate" (his exact words) but when they realized how woefully short they were going to be of the 1000 kids Whittle had told investors would be showing up day 1, they changed their criteria to "anyone with a pulse and a pencil" pretty fast

Are you suggesting the teachers band together and repulse the CW invasion? At least Zelensky has tax revenues from which to pay people. Chris has bupkis

Where can we get information on this?

I believe PP is suggesting the teachers would be better off (at least decently paid) fighting for Ukraine.

I think there are a lot more viable (and safer) options closer to home. Either way, Whittle ain't one of them

Now Ukrainian Defense Minister @oleksiireznikov says, "We offer Russian soldiers a choice: die in an unjust war, or be granted full amnesty and 5 million rubles compensation. If they lay down their arms and voluntarily surrender."

We here in the war room suggest that Whittle teachers don the uniforms of Russian soldiers and attempt to surrender at the Ukrainian embassy in DC.

Unfortunate, Ukrainian embassy is in Georgetown, near the Key Bridge, and not next door like Chinese embassy.

Comrade CW is already on his way to be first in line!

Can we game this out re the teachers and staff? Many are new for this year, after the Great Exodus of the "founding" team. If they quit now (due to being not paid), they will have this weird 8 month whatever thing on their resume, and probably no references from it. Yes, its explainable, but not particularly helpful to have short stays. And then what if... what if... Whittle comes through with the cash (and maybe even back pay!) in mid-March? Then your lower paying subbing or other job will look like a bad move... unless they will have you back at Whittle, which is uncertain then since you had quit when times were rough.

Teachers there probably not really able to go much longer w/o being paid, unless have some other significant income from spouse etc.

I think everyone should just go on strike tomorrow and see what that shakes loose. Collective action is the only way, comrades!

Whittle is not going to come through with cash. The small resume gap is NBD; it less significant than the questionable decision to join WS in the first place.
