Bud in NJ (part-time trainer for the 9v9 girls at a GA club) is saying they are splitting them off from Mid Atlantic and making a new North Atlantic.

Keystone, PA Classics, Beadling, SJEB, Real Futbol, Sporting AC and Century United are all talked about for the North Atlantic along with STA, CSA Monmouth, CSA Bergan, Long Island SC, NY SC, and DUSC

But he says that there should be 1 or 2 new teams around there so maybe the PA/DE stay in Mid Atlantic (who knows with all of the rumors around)

GA already announced all their top programs which are, basically not good clubs overall.

Can someone see if I have all the history right? This back and forth thing makes no sense to me as a parent of a u12 girl.

I was told Arlington was a founding member of Girls Academy when DA imploded because McLean was blocking them from joining ECNL, and McLean was a founding member of ECNL.

Then somehow Arlington was given an ECNL slot, pissing off McLean, but then the McLean Boys ECNL sucked, and at the same time BRYC girls sucked, and they were forced into a marriage of (in)convenience which left no one happy - this was called FVU. McLean said “F it” when MLSNext did a deal with GA and jumped to GA to regain control.

Separately, BRYC is going to maintain the ECNL badge through some version of FVU, and is probably just happy to be there.

And then Loudoun, who was in the ECNL as NVA, just bailed out of ECNL and switched their successful girls program to GA so that their boys could play MLSNext? And that no one is replacing NVA?

But at the end of the day, ECNL is still 3x to 4x more successful as a league that colleges recruit from.

So does McLean and Loudoun/NVA think that in the short term their girls might be screwed, but it is worth it for their boys, and eventually GA will be closer to on par with ECNL?

And is Arlington kind of like that kid who is always wearing last year’s fashion picks? Will they end up trying to get into GA because that’s what the cool kids are doing?

Is there something more that I missed?

Loudon/NVA are screwing their girls so the boys can have more opportunities in MLS. that is all you need to know.

The only way both of them get in is if STA moves to ECNL. NJ Premier is a better club and has proven themselves in GA showcases and Football academy has a boys side that just joined MLSN. Let’s see which one is more valuable.
