It depends on the team level and coach. Which teams? |
I guess I'm not sure. Shouldn't it be the same coaching, but maybe more better players. Are the fees different? Newbie here. |
No. Everyone pays the same price, regardless of team. They have 5-6 teams per level. Gold, White, Black, Silver, Blue in order of skill. The top teams get the best coaches, more attention, more opportunities, more events planned, more expensive/better tournaments, etc. The lowest teams often do not have coaches hired until the last minute, the coaches have no experience. You are paying for coaching, nothing else, so the coach quality is the most important thing. The lower the team, the weaker the players your child practices with will be which will affect their improvement. |
How are you not sure? Did your child get an offer to join a specific team? It would have said the team color on the email. |
Looking to start possibly next year. Just trying to get a good feel for what's out there. |
Coaches are still people. And no two people are the same. |
Do they use a standard training regiment? I guess it doesn't matter who is delivering it if it's the same training in my mind? |
How do you know if the coach is good if he/she doesn't exist yet? It seems weird to pay the same price for less? Why would the lower team kids get treated differently? Seems unfair. |
No, nothing is standardized. It just depends on whether the coach is good or not, and the good coaches are hired for the good teams. They just stick any warm body with the lower teams. |
Yes it is unfair, why do you think there are so many complaints? read the thread |
LOL! |
Ok...I might be naive. Help me here people. What am I missing. |
lower teams are revenue to club. The clubs dont get enough good coaches. So best coaches usually get the top teams. You are then left with newer inexperienced coaches who coach the lower teams. Add the fact that typically there is also a dropoff in talent and commitment by the lower players. |
Revenue?? So they just do it for the money knowing the coaching will ultimately be bad and the team might not be that good?? I’m struggling to see any benefit here. |
correct. Little benefit other than hoping your kid eventually make top team. Or the 2nd team assigns a experienced coach. Never pick a 3rd team lower. Your kid will not develop and club doesnt care |
