Not really. If you're scared to death of migrants and hate them illegally entering, it surely would suck if a governor takes those migrants and gets them on transit to SPREAD even further out through the country.

I have lived 95% of my life with and around migrants - shopping, eating, living life etc., including growing up and going to school and my kids doing the same.

Now, I do think we need to streamline the process of immigration but that is a separate issue.

You are very much in the minority if you have no problem with illegal immigrants receiving free healthcare, housing, and education in the U.S.

You do realize that even those who are undocumented are largely paying taxes right? They are contributing to those things just the same as you and me. It’s not “free.”

Sorry, no. When they receive free emergency room care (using it like a typical doctor’s office) , the taxpayers are footing the bill. When their children crowd the schools, the kids who are actually citizens get far less attention. We all know this. The “paying taxes” trope is absurd. Most are paid in cash, under the table, any amount of taxes taken out are minuscule. Just stop with your ridiculous excuses for importing more and more poverty.

And they can get a tax ID number for withholding purposes. In 2019, according to the IRS, more than 2.5 million tax returns were filed using ITINs, accounting for nearly $6 billion in taxes.

Of course, Trump has always courted the low information voters. A published study in 2021, "Cognitive Sophistication, Religion, and the Trump Vote" (you can actually download free from Wiley" included a 10 point vocabulary test. 73% of the people who didn't get a single test question right were Trump voters. Each question answered correctly correlated to a 14% DROP in the likelihood of voting for Trump.

So let's do some simple math. You claim they paid $6B using ITNs.

DHS estimates there are about 11-12 million undocumented people living here. Let's be VERY generous and assume half of those are are kids.

So that leaves 6 million undocumented people paying $6B in so called taxes.

Big whoop, that equals only a $1000 paid by every undocumented individual here illegally who is working and supposedly paying tax.

They are clearly not paying their fair share of income tax,.which is the primary bulk of taxation for any legal citizen. Consumptive taxes mean jack squat.

I pay sales taxes too when I go travel on holiday in Europe or when I got study abroad for a year. Does that entitle me access to all of their social benefits, their schools, and healthcare just because I pay some VAT? Lol, hell no, because I'm not a citizen and I don't pay fill income taxes.

The rest of the taxes are superfluous, because people who travel here on vacation also pay those sales taxes, yet we wouldn't allow them to enroll their kids in our schools.

--Crickets when a Kushner (whose own HS was shocked) or Dubya or Trump get into prestigious schools, but scream about the low income black kid who got in w/ a 3.8 GPA.

--Crickets when it comes to the millions in PPP loans forgiven for REPUBLICANS, but scream about the kid who got his student loan forgiven.

--Crickets about the economy going to sh*t with Trump's tax cuts for the super wealthy, but scream about any relief Dems were giving to avg Americans incl. child tax credit.

If Trump wins, I guarantee seniors will go back to paying more for insulin and other meds, so ghouls like Manchin's daughter can make more in bonuses.

PPP was a national emergency. I don't agree with Trump furnishing the funds, but you do see a difference between that and your kid taking out student loans and then deciding they don't want to pay them back, don't you?

Why a child tax credit? You wanted the kid, now pay for them instead of demanding other tax payers do with a steeper and steeper progressive tax system. It's time the tax system is flattened so more people pay.

I have nothing against the black kid getting into a prestigious school as long as their test scores aren't weighted differently for race. If you have to weight and play games to boost the score of someone to displace a better student, then we have problems.

I hope you understand the other side's positions.

BTW, we have shortages of insulin and other medications right now. That's what edicts from Uncle Sam in his ivory towers causes - market dislocations followed by shortages of goods and services. Compare how long it takes to get an appointment with the specialist in the medical field today versus several years ago.
