"North Potomac" (aka Darnestown) is the Holiday Inn. Folks who make $1 million/year live in Chevy Chase, which is the Ritz.

This is incredibly inaccurate. As with all house purchases, you make choices about living that suit you, not just a zip code. Families make decisions based on commute, community, schools, family/friends that live nearby, congestion or lack thereof, land and recreation nearby, etc. Plenty of families in MP make at or over a million per year. If you actually lived here you would know that. This person posting is so angry at not being able to buy in that he/she cannot stop making wrong, blanket statements.

The “Holiday Inn” poster is a jerk and mean spirited, but for all you MP defenders…it’s not a good look to suggest that the quality of a neighborhood depends on whether or not folks with 1M/year incomes live there.

We considered MP, could afford it, but definitely make under 1M. We went with another area but I hang around here because…well, this thread just keeps popping up and I can’t help myself!

Obviously can’t speak for anyone but it didn’t seem like people were defending the neighborhood based on family incomes. Seems like most people agree that the person suggesting “wealthy” people only live in Bethesda are wouldn’t choose to live on MP are pointing out that persons lack of insight. It’s just a waste of everyone’s time to project one’s opinion as a fact across everyone. If you don’t like the neighborhood, live elsewhere and don’t visit this forum.

Yea, no one in MP makes a mil. Lol.

I make over a mil a year and i do care. That is how i have made a net worth of so much in the first place is smart investing. I will not spend a penny over 2.3 million for a home here (kalorama, fully loaded) and am fine paying all cash. The problem is the interest rates are too low for this community to drop enough. Even 2.3 is overpaying, probably worth closer to 1.8-2 flat

Then I truly haven’t a clue why you’re posting in a forum about a Toll Brothers planned community.

Why are people so weirdly opposed to this community?

I don’t think that person seems to be opposed. They just want what they think (and in my opinion is) a reasonable price.
