2024 Washington DC area College commits

Also, these are student run pages and they post at intervals that vary. Not all students even submit their decisions for posting. Some want their pages to look a certain way, whether it’s colors are spacing out the same schools, so they wait.

Yes. My kid isn't even close to coming to a decision. He has 4 really great admits, but has 11 more to hear from between now and April 1st. Then, he's going to admitted student events, etc., etc.,

It will May before he decides.

I think this statement applies to almost everyone on DCUM.

I don’t actually know who was being referenced in this post but agree this is almost the defining characteristic of this entire website.

My kid who is in at an Ivy, UVA, WM and a very selective SLAC…non-hooked and has 4 more Ivies to hear from.

Might end up going in-state. The other acceptances won’t be reported on SM page. See how that works? You aren’t getting all the acceptances. Kids make choices to follow athletics or merit aid too for a lower ranked school.

You are getting part of a story.

If they applied and were accepted ED at any Ivy, how did also they apply (and get accepted) at a very selective SLAC. Why didn’t they pull the application?

Some Ivy's have non-restrictive early (Yale, Princeton and Harvard). They didn't pull because they're waiting so see: 1) merit from SLAC's; and 2) other Ivy's in RD.

They obviously got into Harvard, Yale or Princeton which are non-restrictive.

This is all super sad — came here looking for a link. You guys know you’re making your kids so anxious right? Even if you tell them with words that you just want to find “a good fit” for them in college and you”just want them to be happy”. You know those words are meaningless when you have clearly become strangely preoccupied with all this shit. Seriously, it’s so bizarre. It’s really worrying and no one in the world except pockets of America are this obsessive. Sorry but yuck. Look at yourselves

Oh, you're wrong about that.

You should travel more. Every part of the world has these obsessions, different objects maybe.
Oh, you're wrong about that.

Another Princeton for NCS!

Congrats! Hooked?

Is it because of this thread that Dalton no longer posts their class admissions publicly? It’s a private 2024 class Instagram now.

If so, that is insane.

INCREDIBLE! There is a whole strand in the college forum about how ultra competitive Princeton is!!!!!!
