40 yr old Kim Kardashian fails first year legal test

Good for her! DCUM folks are so mean and snarky. Kim K has already helped get some folks out of jail and wants to help wrongly convicted people.

Whether or not she passes the actual bar or becomes a practicing lawyer, she’s generated attention and conversation around her endeavor - which could be all she wants!

They weren't bad students. Not brilliant, but not bad students either. Kourtney went to college at SMU and Arizona and chances are the other girls would probably have gone to similar schools like most other students at Marymount if they didn't become famous.

Dude, stop lying and being creepy. These idiots have been in the limelight for 15 years. They aren't stealth geniuses, they are all painfully stupid and have never finished a book in their life.

I’m not a dude, and why would I lie or be creepy? Nothing to gain.

Not sure why you think they are morons. Maybe you disagree with their values but I don’t think they’re stupid. Not geniuses but not dumb either. The oldest child went to college and my guess is the others probably would have been able to go as well if they were pushed toward that path by their mom.

Totally agree.

They've been in the public eye for a long time. We've heard them speak, watched them interact, seen them interviewed, and so on. They're dumb. Now, I happen to think that Kim is the least dumb of the siblings by quite a large margin, but that doesn't mean that she's not dumb. Kylie and Khloe in particular can barely speak coherently. As for going to college, plenty of idiots go to college. And as for having smart parents, who cares? Plenty of smart people give birth to idiots and vice versa.

Look, there are different types of intelligence out there. Not every type can be well spoken or cerebral - although that's the type favored in DC. Whatever you think of Kardashians, a long-running hit show does not write or produce itself, endorsement opportunities don't grow on trees and social media empires do not spring from the ground. Someone is putting serious thought, planning and execution into all of this, and doing it brilliantly. You cannot possibly tell me this doesn't take intelligence. Kardashian mother may not be a PHD but she did create lucrative futures for most of her children. You cannot tell me this does not require intelligence and work ethic. You just can't.

I agree that Kris Jenner is very smart. Brilliant, in fact.
I'm not sure what that has to do with Kim. You yourself just said that her mother created her career.

Some people did not pay for expensive BarBri prep, much less daily one-on-one Zoom tutoring sessions. Also, I question whether the "baby Bar" is actually harder. If its pass rate is lower, it could be bc people taking it did not come from accredited law schools.

I'm one of the PPs who finds this really impressive - and I have a law degree from a top Ivy. That is part of why I am impressed. I know how hard this material is - and I came into law school straight from college, so my brain was ready for studying and writing papers and all that.

I'm now more than 20 years out of law school and gd help me if I ever had to take one of those exams again - even if I had a BarBri prep course (and lol at you thinking most people here didn't use some study prep for the bar!).

+1 I went to a top law school and passed 2 bar exams and I’m plenty impressed.

+2. And while law school taught me a lot, top schools don't teach to the bar. I used BarBri for that as did most of my peers.

So law schools do not teach to the Bar exam...yet most people taking the Bar exam do not fail the Bar exam 3 times. Could it be that the caliber of people taking the "baby bar" is not the same? I am all for helping people wrongfully convicted, but this feels like a publicity stunt and attention grab. I mean, it's far better than making s!x tapes and taking selfies; don't get me wrong.

This is correct, the baby bar in CA is typically for students at unaccredited law schools (I am an adjunct at one). I can tell you that the students at the law school I teach at absolutely do not have the kinds of resources that she does (or anything close), so I can't say I'm actually impressed at all with her (and I went to HYS for law school and passed what are likely the two toughest bar exams, NY and CA).

+1. Color me unimpressed. She passed the baby bar on the 4th try. The baby bar only covers three subjects: Contracts, Torts, and Crim. Seriously? Only three subjects and it took her four attempts with every single possible study resource at her finger tips. Massive publicity stunt. I doubt she'll bother (or be able) to get much further than this. And to be fair, she really doesn't need to when she can continue to make bank by churning out vapid content on IG.

Remember this because she absolutely will become a lawyer. She has a lot of resources and is the most determined person in this family. I can tell she’s very passionate about the justice system.

What she’s actually good at is positioning herself as a very polarizing figure, and positioning herself as someone that people can write off and underestimate and then prove wrong.

She made one sex tape 25 years ago. Many people had sex tapes come out in the 90s. None of them used the experience to become one of the most famous women in the world, leading a multi million dollar empire who hasn’t had a single brush with the law or similar experience since that sex tape.

Reducing Kim Kardashian to a sex tape is incredibly misogynistic. And I say that not as a big fan of them.

There’s no need to continue anyway. Her fans don’t even understand what she’s doing. They think she’s in law school, getting a degree, passed the first half of the bar. People don’t know what they’re talking about. She could tweet in a year that she passed the bar and will be practicing estates law for wrongfully imprisoned people, and everyone will say it’s wonderful that she finally graduated from Stanford Law, and if you have anything else to say, you’re just a jealous hater.

You have issues.

She can be passionate about the justice system, criminal justice reform, and wrongful & unfair convictions without becoming a lawyer. What is she going to do, stop slapping her name on makeup palettes and loungewear and become a public defender?

Legal aid organizations, with real lawyers who went to college and law school, need money and other resources. She could easily dedicate a good portion of her life to this cause without becoming an attorney.

Is she not allowed to slap her name on things if she becomes a lawyer?

What is wrong with doing all of the above?

What is wrong with her going to law school and getting a J.D., like every other lawyer out there that is viably hirable?

She is lazy and dumber than a brick, that's why she won't get a BA and apply to law school like everyone else. This attention-craving charade is to muddle how painfully stupid she is.

You're right, she doesn't need to become a lawyer to do the work she wants to do. And she obviously doesn't want to go to school for seven years, though it'll probably take her that long to become a lawyer doing it this way. I think this is about publicity/proving something to herself and others/honoring her father.
