Well, you would be wrong. In fact, Tulane’s are higher. But go ahead a spew BS. For the class of 2027:

Boston University - 41% of admitted students submitted scores
SAT 1441
ACT 32

Tulane - 50% of admitted students submitted scores
SAT 1448
ACT 33

Not sure why you can’t google it yourself, but okay.

Oh, and according to one PP, these kids going to Tulane (or BU) should be considering community college or trade school because the only kids going to Tulane are those that can’t get in anywhere else. DCUM is so silly. The kids at both of these schools, while maybe not the top of the class, are certainly very smart, hard working kids that are averaging a 32 or 33 on the ACT. Both are great schools. Visit both and your kid will know which they prefer right away.

You have to look at the SAT of ENROLLED freshmen, not those who appplied and were admitted.

My kid scored higher than that on the ACT and was rejected from Tulane.

I visited both schools with my junior this year and really liked both of them. She is a solid A- student who is captain of her sports team at a competitive independent school and very involved in her community and has developed on her own a nice range of hobbies/talents. This is the tier of schools to which she will be applying and hopefully get admitted. Both schools are good for what she wants to study and have a club team for her sport. She liked Tulane better and knows a couple of students who are there from her school who love it there.

Did you even read the links? If you read the second link, those are the stats of the ENROLLED freshman at Tulane. I guess BU’s enrolled stats could be even lower.

It may not be logical the way you've drawn such a conclusion based on what you wish to believe.
However, the two schools are located in completely different regions, each with its own distinct characteristics, but both are likely to attract capable students.

Additionally, because BU has a large student body, it's possible there is a broader spectrum of students.
FYI, here are the ED1 statistics for the class of 2028 at BU.

* The average GPA for accepted students was 3.87
* Of the students accepted, 35% submitted standardized test scores. The average SAT score was 1454 and the average ACT score was 32

Especially, the regular admission competition is known to be more intense, and there are many variables that will play a role in the students' decisions to enroll.

Seriously? Are you that annoyed that Tulane has slightly higher stats? You sound crazy.

More prestigious restaurant: Arby’s or Fuddruckers?

You decide!

My DC currently attends Tulane. Within her close friend group, they turned down schools like University of Southern California, Michigan, Wisconsin, Boston College, University of Georgia, Wake Forest to attend Tulane. Tulane was definitely not their only choice. Some posters may not be familiar with the caliber of student attending in 2023 and the opportunities available at Tulane. Perhaps your opinions are biased based on 30 years ago? Regardless, it is a great school. No shade on BU, which is also an equally amazing school. Also, my DC has had 2 competitive summer internships in NYC, so absolutely no concerns about people not knowing the name of the school. Tons of Tulane alums in the NE.
