What's your controversial food opinion?

YES! Anything mint + chocolate ruins the food

Spinach and tomatoes. This combination (in Indian cooking) is thought to result in kidney stones. I never believed it, love cooking this together!

Let’s take it outside.

Combining them in a dish is bad for you, like a fish or lobster sandwich with cheese. Drinking a milkshake, right after eating seafood as examples. Eating them individually and spaced apart isn’t bad for you.

Can you provide an actual scientific citation for this?

I assumed this was a clever troll.

New pp. I grew up in Middle East and heard this growing up. Can’t think of middle eastern dish that combines fish or seafood with dairy (yoghurt or cream). Can’t provide you and actual citation and never tried to disprove or prove the allegation, but I also just never eat seafood with dairy. It’s just not a taste combination I grew up with.

Cold soups, including gazpacho, are disgusting.

Unpopular opinion:
Mid-tier precious foodies in mid-tier cities (Charlotte and the like) are more trying to one’s nerves than mid-tier fashion bloggers and that friend who is talking about starting a podcast.

Pumpkin spice everything is almost a reason to hate fall.

If you rank what you’re willing to try by a city’s “tier”, you’re missing out on a ton of great food, and experiences.

It also makes you sound like someone who moved to NYC from some podunk town last year and is now claiming to be some sort of authority on city living and dining. It’s a huge tell, just fyi.

Me: Golden Oreos are far superior to regular Oreos.

This is so obviously, objectively true it's not the least bit controversial.

I mean, of course. Is there any question?

Blasphemy. It's Oreo Thins that are superior.

The original Oreo has the perfect ratio of creme to cookie. Double Stuffs have too much creme; thins don't hve enough.

I'm not even going to dignify the Golden Oreo nonsense with a response.

Double stuf or GTFO

I’ve never had good gazpacho in the U.S., but real gazpacho in Spain is so good.

Love original chips ahoy.

Dislike real peanut butter. Love jif.

Greek yogurt is like diaper cream. Regular yogurt is better.

I love drinking milk too.

Uhm how about Mediterranean lamb with mint yogurt sauce? It’s delicious!

Food trucks should only serve traditional tacos that you eat at 1 am after too many drinks. I don’t like eating my food standing up and I definitely don’t want your quirky sushi-grilled-cheese-fusion served from a questionable truck kitchen.

You all are horrible people lacking any taste
