NL/DCE

Is it normal for them to play players down age groups? We have multiple kids from the 27-31 age group, and watching the 3 programs (BLC, NL, and ML) it seems like NL had older kids play down on teams (we watched the same kids play games in different age brackets), is that standard for DMV programs?

This is a truly stupid post. No one plays down on these teams and you’ve never seen it. What you’ve likely seen is that in the very youngest ages, e.g., there are 2031s that play up on the 2030 team and also play for the 2031 depending on the game. For second grade and third grade teams. This is common in the second and third grade teams. But it involves players playing up and not down.

Sorry to touch a nerve, even more impressive that NL has 8 year olds playing up with the 2029s and 2030s. Speaks to the quality of the coaching and kids.

This is correct. Nobody in these age groups are playing down on NL. Those kids are playing up, and it's almost always w/in the youngest two years.

middle school is when you start seeing kids re-classing (such as repeating 8th grade by going from public to private); the 24, 25, and up teams have a number of reclasses

it's very common in lacrosse because it's grade based rather than age based (except for WSYL, which is NL/DCE/VLC had to combine to create an on-age competitive team)

are you thinking 25% of the team or more?

probably a bit more....the 25 team has several kids that are closer to 16 than 15 now. Most 8th graders are 13-14. All holdbacks that moved down from the 24 ranks last year.

Is someone getting paid for all of these irrelevant posts? Hey NL dad, your club is good, not great, and you’re trying to hard

If it's irrelevant to you, it's at least coherent to most of us. What exactly are you trying to say about NL?

LOL. NL dad in cargo shorts typing away daily on DCUM to keep Junior’s club at the top of posts.

DCE 25 Orange undefeated, again, in spring HoCo season.

Two seasons, back to back HocO champs. THe team is one of the best in the DMV, and NL has not been able to come close to beating them Great team and great coaches.

Undefeated in the AA division. Yay, I guess. So they are "one of the best in the DMV" if you disregard the 19 teams in AAA and Elite divisions, including DCE Black in Elite which is presumably better than DCE Orange in AA.

Doubtless it's more fun to be at the top of AA than the bottom of AAA, but still nothing to get too excited about.

DCE 25 orange is great team there, no question and should have played aaa (and alc bay raiders) if they were allowed to and would have a good chance of winning. if you know all that you also know NL blue went to finals in elite and narrowly beat DCE A team (black) in the regular season. it might the DCE A team you talking smack to so jump on that thread

Title of thread is NL/DCE. PP has a point that the B level teams can have a seat at the table too. Only 25 families are on the A teams or so. Leaves a lot of spots on the other teams to fill!

NL2025 Blue has 29 kids on roster, no less than 19 holdbacks, a few are double holdbacks

Double holdbacks? Your kid is basically mentally disabled at that point right?
Imagine a 11 yr old 3rd grader
