HPV vaccine - did you get it for your son or daughter? If not, why?

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you, just adding that it's only the first hurdle for PP to jump.

14-year old - arm only mildly sore.

12-year old- got glassy eyed at dinner and flushed face (2 hours after shot) and says he has a headache. His arm was also much more sore than his older brother.

We just gave 12-year old Tylenol for headache and I’m watching him to see how he’s doing.

I work in vaccine and opted out prior years due to potential side effects (they have gotten every other vaccine on time with zero hesitation from me and get a flu shot every fall). The HPV vaccine gave me pause because there was a lot more out there about potential side effects.

Update: younger one feeling better

Older one feels extremely dizzy today.

I’m so f@cking pissed I didn’t follow my yeti cars on this one.

Doctor f@cking outright lied about side effects they are seeing.

Seriously? Those are known potential side effects of pretty much every vaccine. The whole point is they cause an immune response. Made them feel bad for 25 hours is probably ably better than spreading cancer.

Right? PP and her instincts are just looking for a fight.

Younger one’s symptoms started 1 hour after shot. He couldn’t eat yesterday and had severe stomach pain. We got him to drink Gatorade this morning. He is walking hunched over. Older one turned white and was disoriented and dizzy day after. He’s fine today.

Two kids with perfect school attendance, never sick and NEVER had any reaction from a vaccine in their 12 and 14 years prior.

It’s definitely the shot and the younger ones symptoms are still here today.

We reported it to the government vaccine website/hotline that tracks adverse reactions.

I work in vaccine research/regulations for the Feds so I am not anti-vaccine.

Op, please share the “legit” studies or ask to have the thread locked in website feedback.

Prove you’re not a troll.

What would be their motivation, though?

I'm not inclined to speculate. I am inclined to ask Jeff to take a look, if this continues going in the direction I was expecting from way back.

OP here- Jeff can lock the thread (i assume he is the owner of the site?) or take it down. I have no idea what anyone is referring to with some intent to tell a personal story? My kids haven't had the shot yet lol so I have no big story I was planning to unveil... they have appts coming up. Some people got their kids the shot (most) and some haven't. I posted one link about the efficacy and can look for the other but think we should end this because it's becoming a big debate and I don't have the energy for it. I really have no desire to prove I am pro vaccine to strangers and at this point I am surprised my kids records aren't being requested. I take responsibility for asking about the shot and won't post about vaccines again in the future. I will speak to the doctors. Thanks for those who replied! Jeff- feel free to take this down/lock or whatever a PP requested. Not sure what proper protocol is!

Op, he will lock it if you as the op link it in website feedback.

I dread the vaccine threads b/c they bring out the trolls with misinformation as evidenced on this thread with the posting of fake studies.

There is a mountain of evidence on the safety of vaccines, however we have a president who constantly derides science during a pandemic no less. We don’t need another outlet for the anti-vaxxers to prey on people’s fears. More people just die needlessly.
