Maybe the men should stay at home and only be allowed to go out in public when escorted by a female family member so they won't be tempted. And if they are tempted, eighty lashings for them! Ha!

I like this one. It's the men who can't keep it zipped.

How do you know that she's doing it to avoid being beaten up?
What if it's her choice?
What if she's wearing it just to try it on?
I went to Asia and wore a saree, bindi, mangalsutra, bangles and bichiya even though I was not born a Brahmin nor am I a Hindu.
I bet if I wear all this here people will make assumptions based on the way I'm dressed but just because I'm wearing it, it doesn't mean I'm submissive to that culture or that I approve whatever customs are connected to those who started such traditions.
Where is the freedom we all brag about?

Bangles and sarees don't have the same associations with the repression that a repressive burqa does. Men wearing suits in high heat is not to be associated with women wearing burqas.

When I was living in a Muslim country, I abided by the local laws. I wore clothes that covered my shoulders and knees. I didn't wear halter and tank tops even though it was really hot.

I agree that tolerance should be taught, but you need to draw a line somewhere. The US government imposes restrictions on domestic polygamist beliefs of a religious sect (Mormons). If you don't draw a line somewhere, then there will be religions that advocate having sex with children. Freedom must have its limits.

Are there religious customs that benefit women and at the same time are a detriment to, take away the freedom of or subjugate men?
