No, that's why we are leaving LS. If you aren't in the "in" crowd on the top teams there, there's plenty of it to eat, including not getting your money back when the season is cancelled before it began. |
Well Alexandria spends $300 k on just one person. At least LS hasn’t gone that far off the deep end. |
Their former ED was at $200K. And they have another 5 making 6 figures. |
|
1) i dont know what ED stands for 2) someone getting paid close or over 6 figures in a youth sports position is obnoxious. let alone 300k. that smells nasty and i hope someone probes their asses and puts an end to it. shameful and embarrassing to have clowns who think are hot shit make money like that when they probably dont have any marketable skills outside of a sport |
ED = Executive Director |
This is everything. Did they ever mention a paycut to help the club? Aren't all the coaches volunteers. I know several parents who are out of a lot of money because they have multiple kids on different teams with Loudoun. It's all crappy soccer with no good training. |
Why we will stay. 1) our kid likes teammates 2) it’s logistically convenient 3) high level competition (ECNL) 4) we’ve been with a number of other clubs. It’s no better. Unprofessional coaches and admins are the norm for clubs and for the Loudoun team my kid is on the coach is professional (maybe not the best tactically, but acts professionally and respectfully to kids and parents) and so is the administration. Maybe some other clubs are giving a little bit more $$ back, but that’s not evident. Loudoun is being singled out primarily due to its size. Yes, some of their staff make too much $$ for what they do, and yes they should have given more back to those that didn’t get to play and practice in the spring. Bring a class action law suit if there is such a concern and make them settle. Hire a lawyer. Go after the club owners financially, but leave the rest of the club that doesn’t make these decisions alone. |
First reason - my son wanted to stay with LS. Ultimately it was his choice since cost and location were about the same as alternative clubs. Second reason - his teammates are also returning. Third reason - we have been to other clubs and it's really picking what's most important to you. NO LS isn't the best player development club out there, but overall we have had good experiences with the coaches and teams we played with. It's also fairly well organized on the travel side of the house. Do we agree with the refund hostage situation with our money? NO. Did other soccer clubs did the exact same things with their refund/credits? YES. |
|
So now the loyal LS parents are out in full force to protect the shield.
|
No, I'm at a different club. |
Even weirder |
You're likely too far away from where we're at to be aware, but for all the problems Loudoun has, several have many more. Don't get me wrong, plenty of clubs better than Loudoun. |
+1 (and we are not willing to drive much farther since we both commute to work during the week). |
