| ^^^I'm NOT trying to catch you in a lie |
Bullshit you're not. Do you really expect me to draw you a map of where we live, where our friends live, and the route we bike to the pool? |
DP here, just tell us which pool you go to. That should be close enough. |
If you want your trail back, you should be supporting the completion of the PL. You will have a better trail, one that will not get washed out when it rains, will not be covered in mud and will be ensured to be kept up. In addition to widening the trail to make sure there is enough space for both walkers and bikers and there will be regular maintenance and cleaning to make sure that the seasonal problems that affect the current trail do not close off portions every Spring. You should be blaming the anti-PL protesters for making the reconstruction of the trail take as long as it has taken. It was supposed to be done this year, but it won't be thanks to them. This is what the trail is supposed to look like when done and will be kept up and cleaned for a change.

Yeah, that train going by says it all. It used to be so nice. |
Trudging along in the mud was such a pleasure and of course less fit people essentially couldn't use the trail at all. I also loved the zig zag at Connecticut and the long wait for the light to change - I'm sure all trail users preferred that over the future bridge. You do know in Europe they add noisemakers to streetcars because they are so quiet? |
Yeah, but the rail line was purchased for the train. The way it was was never going to stay. The train was always supposed to be there. The fact that they have kept the trail in addition to putting in the train is a benefit. You should appreciate that they were willing to keep the trail in the final plans. The Capital Crescent Trail was leeching on publicly procured lands that were acquired for a train line. |
There has always been a train going by. There was always going to be a train going by. |
Huh? You mean those old abandoned train tracks off in the weeds? No trains went by on those tracks, at least not in our lifetimes. |
| The Purple Line is doomed. |
Allow me to introduce you to the history of the Georgetown Branch. https://www.cctrail.org/history_georgetown_branch |
You and your neighbors are classic NIMBYs, literally and are costing the county and state a billion dollars. Maybe they should require you put up a bond for the frivolous BS lawsuits you have lost over time. |
The Rock Creek pool off Grubb RD north of EW matches the description. |
They did in my lifetime, I am not that old. Coal cars being run to Georgetown. |
Hope so. Rooting for everyone waiting to bring the new suits as soon as the courts open back up. Fingers crossed. It only takes one to be a success. |
