Looks like Loudoun's TD already started that thread. Search is your friend.

I think it’s fantastic to hear ECNL parents in this area talk about being elite. There are 3-4 good teams in this area out of more than 20 in ecnl. Across all age groups. Think about this. Penn Fusion was terrible as part of the DA but switch to ECNL and now voila they’re awesome. VDA bottom of GDA standings and now middle of the pack in MA ecnl and they’re awesome. Same players same coaches but in ecnl everyone is awesome.

All these local ecnl teams couldn’t finish in top half of their division last year but now with NC teams they will? Come on. The players on these local ecnl rosters did not get better because the GDA folded. Development and talent do not work that way. The GA teams that stay together will remain at the level hey were before just like the ecnl teams. And according to Local ecnl parents, their rosters wouldn’t be taken over by GDA players so I guess middle to bottom of division is the ceiling for these teams going forward.

Ignorance is incredible.

Try breathing while you type. I think the lack of oxygen has you posting things that don't make sense.

Interesting take. I thought he made a lot of sense.

Then you both are in good company

Until you actually do research and find out how much crap he is spilling over, hey! Right on track with the media stations.. makes sense everyone is buying into the fake news.

Leaving the whole GA versus ECNL thing aside, that would be a fantastic opportunity for more local coaches to see all the local girls. I hope with COVID and travel restrictions somehow the clubs are able to make that happen now that the draconian DA rules are gone.

Agreed. Would be nice for the loyalist parents to give up the fighting and see the benefits of this kind of model.

ENCL will not cooperate with GAL. Right now ECNL biggest selling point is they are the only elite league and get all the scouts. They do not care about kids or parents ....As tony soprano said “we're running a business here"

And to have a monopoly they just need to add the DAs.

GAL will be pain in the neck until then.

You're hoping a business does what you want verse adjusting to the market place. If you want to play ECNL, tryout at an ECNL club of your choice. If you don't, don't.

I’m fine where I am. The thread is about GAL clubs yet here you are, a ECNL backer posting here.

It’s not as if I’m in a ECNL thread telling ECNL what to do. If given the choice I would prefer that ECNL expands in size, reducing travel costs and opening up elite soccer for economically disadvantaged kids.

It would be a win win allowing for pro/Rel as well. But since that didn’t happen my kid will stay where they are.

So, since you’re so confident in your choice, that is great, but I don’t see why you feel compelled to be posting in this thread.

ECNL is a non-profit you jack-ass. They are actually poor. All of they're financials are online, and trust me, they are not impressive.... They are based outside of Richmond and have limited employees.

Meanwhile, EDP is a FOR-Profit league and generate almost 5x more than ECNL.

Perhaps one should ask if GAL is a Non-profit or a For-profit.

1. Pro/Rel: ECNL (Promoted) and GAL (regulated)

Congratulation. You got what you wanted.

I think that is the point. Many of us do not want to leave our GA clubs. We are happy there. Our girls like their teammates, they get good coaching, and logistically we can get them to practice each day. It looks to us like there will be plenty of great competition in the GA, and plenty of flexibility to seek out other high quality games as well.

We are adjusting to the marketplace - we are keeping our kids where they are most happy. But some of us think the the marketplace would be addressing the needs/wants of its clientele better if the ECNL had admitted the top 3/4, or even all of, the DA teams. And there are ample reasons why that would have been a good move for the ECNL as a league, and beneficial for the current ECNL clubs, players and parents. ECNL would have a much higher percentage of the country’s best players and clubs had they done so. Can either league claim to be the only top level league in this country? Not honestly. Can ECNL claim to be the only top league in this area without FCV and Arlington, or the only top league nationally without Tophat, FC Dallas, Legends, Beach, NEFC, etc? To anyone being honest with themselves, the answer can only be no.

Do I think we have a right to dictate what the marketplace should do? Nope. But like anyone else with any other product, I’m going to express a little frustration when to me there was an obvious and easy way for the marketplace to offer us all a better product.

In the meantime, we are all, both leagues, slated to travel more at a time when we aren’t even sure we can travel at all. And we will be subjected to endless debates over which league is better when the obvious correct answer is, they both are.

Maybe the GAL clubs should have went ECNL-R. That would have satisfied your need for local travel and cost issues.

But GAL didn't care. They went off and started that own little league because they are poo poo faces

Still here I see. Must be the DA player phone calls to your club stopped. The good news is your kid is safe. The bad news is your team is still mediocre.

Cut the crap. You want to stay with your team and still be considered the top league. That's all. Its about ego

Why would anyone do ECNL R? Really NPL? This is how brainwashed you all are to a set of letters.

ECNL R is literally NPL. Only the letters changed.

ECNL R isn’t “Elite”. It doesn’t offer a showcasing platform. It is just a travel league no different than CCL, NCSL or EDP.

Seriously, to promote ECNL R as anything more than that is laughable
