ES Parents, please listen in to one or two zoom classes to make sure your kid isn’t “that kid”

How about the kids just focus for one freaking hour and the parents be hands on to make sure their kid is focused? It really is not that hard.

Oh, that is right. We don’t discipline or show accountability. We make excuses and turn it into something that should be tolerated by the masses.

Yeah, this says so much about why classrooms are in the state they are.

"Susie has ABCDEFG so we just have to deal with the behavior. Everyone else will be fine."

No, the teacher needs to mute their mic. Parents contacted. Interrupt their day to deal with their kid since the teacher isn't even in the same building. Oh... parents are working? So is the teacher.

I'm new to the zoom meetings. We all had the video on, but I frequently saw only one child popping up on the teachers screen. How does he do that? I thought the teacher controls it?

The kids control just as much. It is a bit crazy

You have it on “speaker view” instead of “gallery view”. So if there’s someone speaking, or sound coming from their house, the view switches to them instead of the teacher. In gallery view, you can see all the participants in a grid.

+1
And I’m a teleworking parent.

I'm NOT monitoring my kid's Zoom class. I'm working. My husband's working. We are on our own conference calls and Zoom conferences plus watching a toddler. So if the teacher has an issue, she needs to reach out. I can't be 10 places at once and am not trying to be.

You're an a-hole. You are a disgusting mother. I don't care if you're working. You're just a jerk.

Its not the parents job. Its the parents job to make sure they are there. If a teacher cannot handle a child she needs to contact the parent. Parents should have to sit there. We don't.

Jesus Christ what kind of post is this???!!!

Some people in Montgomery County are completely, unashamedly CLUELESS as well as judgmental!!! Talking to you, PP. Not everyone can do the same things. How dare you describe a parent in your community, who is clearly struggling to cope with more on her plate than you clearly have, and not in a position to watch their children the way you are, in those terms?

Some acceptance and flexibility is crucial in life. You are the problem with MCPS -- you and all the other complete bitches who don't know how to be decent people, let alone raise them.

We are all working lady. Be lucky you have a job, but don’t use that as an excuse to not be a parent. Do you ignore them both all day to work 8 hours?

Thanks for ruining for others who are working AND parenting.

Thank you. Learning something new every day. I will change the view for my ES kid tomorrow.

Why? Because she’s not a helicopter parent suffocating her children into a coma. If you raise your kids correctly, you don’t have to worry about how they are behaving on zoom. Sounds like you need to take your meds.
