I truly feel nothing but sorrow for Kobe’s widow + his three children.
I cannot imagine their pain. Vanessa.....losing both her husband AND child at once. And the kids, losing their beloved sibling and Daddy. Their life will never be the same. Or even close. So tragic. ;( |
And think about the baseball coach’s family. His wife, his daughter and the baseball coach were on the helicopter. They left behind 2 other children, one still in high school. They lost both their parents and a sibling. |
| The daily mail reporting the other 2 passengers were another teammate and her mother. How awful. Three young ladies, two dads, two mothers, the assistant coach and the pilot. |
That what’s I figured. Teammates and their families. Who else would be commuting to a basketball tournament. So tragic. |
| Can you image three teenage teammates traveling with parent(s) on Kobe Bryant’s helicopter. That’s pretty exciting. Then a family member hearing tragic Breaking News ....from TMZ. Horrifying and despicable. |
TMZ needs to be canceled. There is no way anyone was notified before they reported this. That’s why it was only on their website at first. Can you imagine the Bryants, the Altobellis, and the other families as this trickled out? Yuck. |
|
Doesn’t matter - other news outlets knew, but chose not to report it initially. |
Except rumors were already all over Twitter and people were wondering if it was hoax. Better to actually know than to wonder. Cops need to work under a new model, they could have easily informed quicker. |
People? So what if “people” were wondering if it was a hoax. I did too before it was confirmed and only TMZ was reporting it. It is more important for the families to know than for me to know for sure. |
So cops and emergency services are supposed to let TMZ and Twitter dictate that they change their protocols now? Seriously? Do you know realize that an immediate initial statement does not equate to "knowing" anything substantial? The reason there were rumors all over Twitter is because TMZ put it out there when they did. Like a PP said, it's probable that other news outlets had a clue early on but were giving police a LITTLE time to notify families. A famous person was not the only victim. The families of the others had to see it trickle out while they probably agonized over whether there were survivors or whether their loved one actually maybe didn't get in board at the last second, or, or, etc. |
The fact is the cops need to notify the family before their kids/family hear about it on Twitter. The cops need to do a better job. That is why the cops are blaming TMZ, it's a red herring and you fell for it hook, line and sinker. |
| Oh for FFS, TMZ was not sitting at the foot of the mountain, they were tipped off by somebody who had knowledge. Blame them, not the person that answered a phone call. |
