HS Magnet decisions

I reached out to RM magnet coordinator. Here is the response:

"Letters will be put in the mail on Feb 1. You will be able to log in to the parent portal to review results the same day. That said, it will be released centrally on a Saturday so if there is a glitch it will not be resolved until Monday Feb 3 to view results."

That is interesting...why are they putting it in the mail on a Saturday?

If that is true, they should correct the message in the portal that results will be posted in late January

It will be posted to postal mail on Jan 31 11:59PM IDLW timezone (which is Feb 1, 6:59AM EST). We should receive it on Feb 3rd.

But will be in portal as soon as posted.

So we will get results both on the portal and in the mail?

my understanding is that you'll see cogat results in portal, but not the magnet decision. You'll see both in mail.

yeah, but did you read 13:21?

My guess decisions/scores in the portal- like a list, but an actual "welcome letter" from any programs you are invited to in the mail. Guess we'll see over the weekend/on Monday.

Hope the decision is posted in Portal (or received in mail) by Saturday. DC needs to fill the course registration for home high school next week and doesn't want to look at it until the Magnet results come.

How can they send something by mail at midnight? What does that even mean?

Letter isn’t in today’s mail.

Folks,

1. Most applicants will be rejected --- so rejection is normal

2. This is a selection process NOT a competition process -- there is no clear cut who gets in ! It is up to the committee to select "winers". So if you don't get in it does not mean you are not good enough for the program (maybe you are too good for the program -
