I honestly have never heard of her before this tragedy, but it is awful how she is being painted as a drug abuser in this thread.

I spent all of Friday reading about the Kennedy family after this...
But I cannot follow their family tree for the life of me.

This article says "And RFK Jr. wrote on Instagram, “We’ve lost our daughter and our children, their sister. Saoirse was fierce, both in her love for her family and yearning for justice. A fearless adventurer, she inspired curiosity and daring in her friends. But her greatest gift was to find humor in everything and to give us all the gift of her laughter - and our own. The gaping hole that she leaves in our family is a wound too large to ever heal.”"

But isn't her dad the Hill guy from Ireland? I am sorry for being dense but I don't get this quote form RFK Jr. Isn't he her grandfather?

??? She wasn’t addicted to opioids, she committed suicide.

How do you know that? Most of the articles refer to a family source saying she od’d.

She did OD. On purpose.

Literally every article, and quote from her family, has a link to the society for suicide provention.

He’s just speaking collectively. A “daughter” of the family. He’s not her father.

Speaking of the Kennedys as someone who isn't all that into religion , I can't help but think of that part in the Bible that says you pay for your sins until the fourth and or fifth generation or something like that . These guys are cursed and I doubt they're innocent .

Um no. She is definitely NOT a member of the opioid abusing demographic. Besides is there any indication that she overdosed on opioids?

Um yes. You are wrong.

Young adults (age 18 to 25) are the biggest abusers of prescription (Rx) opioid pain relievers, ADHD stimulants, and anti-anxiety drugs.

Women are more likely to have chronic pain, be prescribed prescription pain relievers,
be given higher doses, and use them for longer time periods than men. Women may
become dependent on prescription pain relievers more quickly than men.
Prescription pain reliever overdose deaths among women increased more than 400%
from 1999 to 2010, compared to 237% among men.12
• Heroin overdose deaths among women have tripled in the last few years. From 2010
through 2013, female heroin overdoses increased from 0.4 to 1.2 per 100,000.13

Most drug epidemics in the United States have disproportionately affected nonwhite communities. Notably, the current opioid epidemic is heavily concentrated among white communities, and the roots of this racial/ethnic phenomenon have not been adequately explained.

RFKjr is her uncle. RFK was the brother of JFK, and was also murdered while running for president in 1968. He was her grandfather because her mom Courtney was his daugher. Hill was her dad.

We don’t know much about her life but it seems like RFK Jr was closer to her than just being an uncle. I saw a picture of Cheryl Hines helping her move into her college dorm room, RFK Jr’s daughter referred to her as a sister. There must have been something else going on in her life...

SOAR-sha

It is a common Irish name. It's lovely.

sounds more like the name of a rare protected animal specie.

aren't you clever?

It means freedom. Her father gave her the name after being unjustly held in a British jail for a crime he did not commit. Listen to the Pogues for gods sake.

Yeah it stii doesn't change the fact it's virtually unpronounceable.

Who criticizes a young deceased girl who had no choice in her name? And who obviously suffered deeply from depression? Classy, very classy. Fwiw, there are many gaelic names that are hard to pronounce to us but not to the people over there. Would you criticize Lupita Nyong'o for having a strange name?

Lupita is isn't hard to pronounce , in fact I've heard far more people say the like her name than that soerse. She could simply go by Lupita for the rest of her life and very few people would have to bite their tongues to pronounce her name. I'll be generous and give you an E for effort though. Your comparison is comically sad.

Gee, why bother presenting facts to fan girls and their Kennedy worship ?

Nope. I’m sure there’s a few articles discussing suicide but the majority are not. At this point the articles, and family members posts, are just recognizing her.

There’s a lot of reference to her having a traumatic childhood until her mother brought her back to the US. Maybe they lived with RFK JR for a time, or he just filled in as her dad.

Her parents were a mess, sadly.

Not pp but, can you please let it go and focus on more important things than how to pronounce her name and why her parents hated her for naming her that? ( I disagree btw) A young women is dead and you are going on and on. I think both Lupita is just as difficult to pronounce and I'm sure there are plenty others.
