Do you also consider homosexuality and hysteria to be mental illnesses?

No

OK. Let's see what you think about transgenderism in 20 years.

So because a problem is hard we just should keep discriminating against people?

I remember the south worrying about a much harder problem, e.g. how is our economy going to function when we suddenly have to start actually paying people to work our fields?

We figured that one out. I think we can figure out pronouns.

No one said that. Why are you pulling posts out of context?

I think their acts are wrong and their values and realities intolerable.

Murder, drug dealing, adultery, lying, etc. are actions, while transgenderism is a state of being. Judging people for who they are, separate from their actions, is pretty much the definition of bigotry.

In 20 years there will be massive lawsuits and a collective “what were we thinking”, much like the repressed memories phenomena and satan-scares of the 70’s and 80’s.

Satan scares? WTF.

OK - you'll still be a close-minded tw@t in 20 years, but hopefully everyone else will catch up by then.

+ 1. That's exactly what is happening in Connecticut. Two boys who were middle-of-the-pack runners on the boys team switched to the girls team and started breaking the records for girl runners at the state level. Girls on teams there were not able to go to the regional competitions because their slots were taken by boys who "identified" as girls. No hormones or surgeries, just an identity change.

This is possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Yes, people are FAKE CHANGING THEIR GENDER IDENTITY so they can do better at high school sports?

HAHAHAHA!!

Yeah, because it's way more important to do better at high school sports than it is to not be discriminated against, be able to date people you are attracted to, and so on....

This is just dumb.

That’s exactly what happened in CT. Average male athletes switched their gender identification and started winning races and breaking records. They could have stayed on the boys team and dated who they wanted.

Can you please point me to the part where they actually faked their gender identity for this? I must have missed that.

They can truly believe they are girls and still race with the boys. They have male bodies, no matter what their identity is. They should race against other male bodies.

Stay focused. Please re-read the bolded part above.

It may be your opinion that people with "girl bodies" or whatever shouldn't race with boys. It may also be your opinion that people with "girl bodies" and higher than average testosterone levels, like Serena Williams, shouldn't be allowed to compete either. Maybe it's your opinion that we should just make anyone who's not 100% average take drugs to make them average? I dunno.

But whatever your position, this has nothing to do with the ridiculous statement above, which I will repeat here because you seem to have problems with reading comprehension.

This is what PP said, to which I was responding: "Boys who can't make the cut in boys' sports are finding a new avenue"

No. Boys are not "pretend changing their gender identities" to find a new avenue to be better at sports.

Frankly, I don't care what the ACP says. I already said that I am on the fence about a lot of the transgender issues as it relates to kids. It is a complicated issue and anyone who says otherwise is lying.

So, back to schools. How do you feel about transgenders and girl's sports? I strongly believe that transgender women should not be competing with biological girls.
I really don't care about bathrooms, and I am not too sure about locker rooms. Frankly, in my experience, girls are fairly modest and go into corners. I would think that might be more difficult in a boys' shower room for transgender boys.

I believe this is largely a fringe issue, even with policies, and the amount of time you spend worrying about it would be better focused on doing something more productive. You're carrying on like boys are pretending to be girls just for the sake of playing on a girl's team. Which just doesn't happen with any regularity.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Is there a cite or evidence that Serena has "higher than average testosterone"? I've never heard that and that's the kind of crap that de-legitimizes not only her hard work but also any woman who is in fact a woman while also being strong, muscular, and aggressive.

+1 I've never read anything about Serena's testosterone levels being outside of the normal ranges for a woman. I'd like a citation.

What about the transgender woman at Franklin Pierce college. She didn't even place when running as a man, yet as a woman she won a national title (running one second slower than as a man). Other women on the team didn't even come close, with the fastest a full 2 seconds behind her.

I think pp may have mixed up Serena Williams with Caster Semenya, who does have high testosterone levels because she is XY with internal testes, but female-appearing genitalia due to an intersex disorder. Just a guess.

Just cover up her hair, and Serena’s face looks like a man.

Another thread proving how messed up Virginia is and full of just off the charts conservative thinking. If the river can’t keep y’all south, let’s build the wall on your shoreline.

Extreme trans activists now are trying to change the scientific literature to meet their demands. You all are in full censorship mode, from people commenting on line to academia. You are no better than the religious right. Shame on you.
