I can easily spot the difference between an unproductive poor white and a productive affluent African American. Actually, I can spot the difference between poor unproductive people and productive working people regardless of the race and origins.

I do not understand why ppl are making it a race thing. Do you realize this is race neutral! Many AAs including myself will be hurt in this and it will actually lead to lower numbers of AAs in schools because *SHOCKING* most AAs at ivy's are pretty well off. It is incredibly difficult for poor students to make it to college hence why even the minorities are pretty well off. In the end, if anything this will lead to more poor white kids getting an edge. STOP MAKING THIS ABOUT BLACK PPL It IS ABOUT POVERTY. I know you don't like to see black ppl around you so this policy will actually help- you should support it.

Well, let's turn it around and look at it another way. Would it be the end of the world if "not enough" underprivileged (meaning, black and Hispanic, because that's what this is "adversity score" nonsense really all about) kids didn't get into HYP and had to go to George Mason instead? If the people we expect to become leaders of our country are educated in an environment where they're prevented from interacting with, and learning from, individuals who have experienced the biggest issues facing our country: things like poverty, racism, and disability. Then they aren't in a position to actively engage those problems and be part of the solution. So yes, that is an unacceptable outcome.

I am so sick of this notion that if a kid knows how to play the bassoon or swim real fast then we see that as an asset to the school and give them admissions privilege, but if a kid's achievement in overcoming racism, or other challenging experiences then we act like it's some sort of charity to let them in. When in reality, the latter is harder to do, and the knowledge that they gain from it is far more important.
