Privilege provides greater access to opportunity. For years people who were privileged enough to be able-bodied with hearing and eyesight and two functioning legs had more access to opportunities than handicapped individuals, right? We’re handicapped and disabled people less intelligent, less hard-working, or less capable of contributing to society? NO. When changes were implemented to make accommodations for handicapped and disabled individuals they proved that when given more opportunities they could be useful and productive and pioneering members of society. People of color are not less intelligent less hard-working or less capable of contributing to society. People born into poverty are not less intelligent, less hard-working, or less capable of contributing to society. Non-whites are not inherently lacking in morals or work ethics or innovative ideas they are lacking in opportunity.
If you’re heterosexual you’re privileged. Nobody questions your morals and wants to put restrictions on your opportunity to be romantically involved. Doesn’t mean you should be ashamed of being heterosexual just acknowledge that society gives you greater privilege to love someone and be with someone.
