Let's play the hypothetical game: What if we learned that a man in his 50s raped a girl when they were in high school, then he blackmailed her into having an abortion?

What if we learned that a man in his 50s had consensual sex with a girl which resulted in a pregnancy when they were in HS. The man pretended he didn't know her when he learned of the pregnancy, and she was so humiliated she killed herself.

Would these be things you might find relevant? If so, how about we wait and find out what is in that letter before deciding it's NBD.

Is it suggested to be either of those situations? Do you know anything about this or just having fun spitballing?

I am responding to the people above who said that nothing he did in high school could possibly be relevant to him becoming a Sup Ct justice today. I am trying to gauge how far that feeling extends. If it extends all the way to those hypotheticals, then we know that these are just partisans who would support their guy no matter what. If it doesn't extend out that far, then we know that this inquiry into what that letter says is actually important.

If you went to law school - which I gauge you did not - then you would be familiar with this sort of puzzling through an issue.

Agree, a lot of what he did in high school would not be relevant, but some actions definitely would be.

This whole episode has really made the Democrats appear even more desperate than they already appeared.

Link?

DP. i read this on several sites--I think one was WAPO.
FBI does not have jurisdiction on this. It would be a local matter--at least, I guess it would be if we knew where, when, and what happened. The only thing I've read was pretty juvenile and certainly does not rise to an investigation of any type. Desperation and embarrassing on the part of Feinstein.

Also embarrassing for the woman who allowed herself, albeit anonymously, to be convinced to be used as a pawn in such a ridiculous way.

So you are ok with a potential rapist on the Supreme Court?

Potential RAPIST? Because some anonymous person made an allegation, without even specifying what, at the eleventh hour? Maybe YOU are a potential rapist! Should you be fired because I said that?

Exactly. These people are insane.

So, you are ok with convicting without knowing not only the allegation, but without any evidence?

No, but I am ok with credible evidence being investigated by the proper authorities. You seem not to be ok with even that step. You want to push this nomination through without it being properly vetted. Where do I suggest convicting someone? See the word "potential" in my post? Can you read?

DP, but apparently it's ok to call people anything we like as long as, you know, we put the word "potential" in front of it. So you're probably a potential rapist yourself. Right?

It's their MO. No surprise there.

Wrong.

The Roy Moore Accusers had corroburating witnesses and other evidence. Please name a credible accuser who had no accompanying information.

The Al Franken accusation was idiotic. He shouldn't have resigned, but his own party turned on him because it was an opportunity to virtue signal.

Exactly. The only people I know who insisted Franken should resign were Democrats. As another PP said, they're their own worst enemies.

And, THIS is how rumors get started.
You make me ill, pp. Rape, abortion, and hush money - all in one post. No proof. No evidence. Just your sickening little speculation to start rumors.

My, my-; control your anger!

DP. No wonder liberals are mocked. No one trusts people who slander others for no reason. Oh, except your own gain, of course. Really hope no one falsely accuses you or a loved one of heinous crimes you didn’t commit. Stay golden.

Oh, you mean like being President while born in another country? Or do you mean like all of the warriors at the FBI who have been combating the Russian crime syndicate who are being systematically removed from their posts?

By "all of the warriors at the FBI" who have been removed - are you referring to the one idiot, Peter Strzok? That one person who absolutely deserved to be removed because he couldn't quite separate his personal politics from his job? My, you do have a way with hyperbole, don't you?

DP. It’s astounding that you have already decided what he must have done (in HIGH SCHOOL, mind you) and are ready to convict. Doesn’t matter that you have no clue what was in this letter, or if there was any accusation of ANY kind. What a perfect example of liberal madness. Make up some spurious accusation, then try desperately to make everyone believe it. You people have no concept of integrity, yet you’re the first to claim anyone who disagrees with you is somehow in the wrong. Disgusting.

Or.... It’s astounding that you have already decided that anything he might have done (no matter how RECENT, mind you) and you would never convict. It doesn’t matter to you that there’s clear evidence of perjury and evidence of financial high jinks including massive debt that was mysteriously paid off, twice. What a perfect example of conservative madness. Refuse to listen any accusation, no matter how good the evidence, then refuse to listen when there’s more evidence. You people have no concept of integrity, yet you’re the first to claim that anyone who disagrees with you is somehow in the wrong. Disgusting.

I mean really. He has clearly perjured himself. He clearly can’t manage his finances; someone paid off his debts. And now this? He’s not a decent person and has no business being on the SC.

But he perfectly encapsulates what the GOP is and has been: trash.

You seem confused. There has been no accusation - of anything. No one has any clue what is in that letter. It's not as if a credible accusation (with evidence, witnesses, etc.) was made and is being ignored. NO ACCUSATION HAS BEEN MADE. Do you understand the concept of not condemning anyone unless and UNTIL a credible accusation is made? No, probably not. You and your fellow liberals would much prefer slinging any accusation that comes to mind, seeing if it sticks (through the usual speculation and rumor that you LIVE FOR), and then meting out punishment. No matter that you have no idea whether any crime has even been committed. You just want him gone and this is the most convenient way for you to do it.

FYI, there is no evidence of either perjury or "financial high jinks." He will be confirmed and you'll just have to continue with your 2+ year meltdown. Sorry.

Even your liberal fact checkers have debunked your perjury accusation. You are really grasping at straws here.

Exactly. So pathetic.

DP. Please share with us how you would ever, in a million years, prove any of the above, in any hypothetical instance.

I'm sorry - I honestly cannot believe that *anyone* would think this is something worthy of exploring. OMG. I'm embarrassed for whomever decided to send this letter. Wow.

What have the Dems done? Feinstein didn't pursue the letter's allegations, someone (probably GOP) leaked letter's existence to The Intercept so the Feinstein gave it to law enforcement. End of story.

So now let's talk about all the times Kavanaugh has lied under oath...

That law enforcement was even asked to be involved is flabbergasting. There are truly no words for how stupid liberals are.

L.O.L. He "locked" her in a room and "made her feel uncomfortable"? That's it? Give me an 'fing break.
