Miley does Dolly Parton covers the best. Jolene is my favorite. Not a huge country fan but I prefer Willie Nelson and his son, Lukas Nelson, on Just Breathe.

Finding Bob Dylan covers that improve upon the original is like shooting fish in a barrel IMO. His songs are legendary but I hate his voice. You’re right. It was a singer/songwriter named Robert Hazard. Though I’m not sure I would call Cyndi Pauper’s version a “cover” since Hazard never actually released it. Just to try to find a copy you can buy! From what I can tell, all that’s out there is a rough demo. Anyway, thanks for bringing it up because I didn’t know any of this a week ago!

Robert Hazzard was part of the Philadelphia music scene in the 80's. Cyndi's backup band at the time was the Hooters, another Philly band. One of the members co-wrote "Time After Time", which is why you'll see them do a version of it.
