FCPS Sub shortage

2) Up pay for retired teacher subs.

My retired teacher sub go-to (of which I now only have one because of the reduction in sub pay for retired teachers) mentioned that she is now required to sub 2 days per month to stay active in the system. So now I will lose the only person I have that can run the library in my absence. Joe Schmo sub off the street can’t use our checkout system, do readers’ advisory, and show students how to use databases. So now when I am sick, the library will be closed. Good work, FCPS.

Regarding this year's winter break, as far as I can tell FCPS is the only school division in NoVa that gets two whole weeks off this year.

Probably because we are just coming off a long break and many of the needed appointments were made then. That and, well, people just had a long break.
