What screams *INSECURE FRUMP* to you?

Insecure = Flashy cars or visible labels/logos. E.g., Purses with LV.

While I don't agree that choosing to wear a visible logo makes you insecure, I've never equated frumpiness with insecurity at all. Frumpy women just don't care (and that's alright).

But not caring doesn't equal insecurity. That's the point.

Not caring about appearance is a sign of depression. That's my point.

Not always. Some people are not fashion whores. I can respect that. You're not really a leader if you are wearing what other people are wearing, are you?

I know, I'm agreeing with you. I just disagree with the label =insecure part.

What does depression have to do with anything?

When I have had depression or periods of high anxiety, I don't care how I look. Not caring how you look is not a good sign.

As a 38yr old unfashionable mom, frumpy to me are those god awful shapeless LuLaRoe dresses and tunics. The printed leggings do not make it hip or fun. They make you look like a crazy old lady. Save the printed leggings for school age girls who look good in leggings and don't need a tent dress to cover their bottom.

So it occurred to me that insecure and frumpy can coexist at times. For example, if someone is insecure about her body shape, she may choose to wear frumpy clothes that are not form-fitting.
