RIP Prince

Anyone else read the rumors about the mysterious "vault?"

So intrigued!

I read that he needed both hips replaced but wouldnt due to the fact that as a Jehovah Witness he cant have a blood transfusion. Maybe he was taking opiates for the pain, especially after a concert.

People with epilepsy are sadly, prone to sudden death. It happens a lot.

He had epilepsy as a child and outgrew it, meaning he hasn't had seizures since he was a child. My guess is that it was a drug overdose.

I don't know if that is an accurate description of his Paisley Park home.

But he's quoted in a soon-to-be-released Rolling Stone article as saying something like:

-he stayed in his hometown in Minnesota because the cold kept the bad people away.

He was possibly the greatest American musician of all time. He even hosted a huge dance party in front of his home during the past year.

+1

He could live anywhere he wanted, and he chose where he was born and raised. He also gave selflessly without fanfare. That is an amazing person. Period.

It's not a rumor, he actually has said this on more than one occasion. The guy that recently interviewed him for Rolling Stone was on GMA this morning and he said Prince told him about his vault of music. He also said the vault might not be an actual vault but that there is a catalog of unreleased music.

Anyone here know about any local public events to celebrate his music? Why isn't Blind Whino hosting anything? If DC's Arts community wants to be taken seriously--there needs to be some kind of awesome outdoor/indoor event this weekend to dance, enjoy and memorialize his music.

I'm not affiliated with this place but seems like a great spot for a Prince rave http://www.blindwhino.org

Anyone who has seizures can have seizures again when seriously ill.

Also if it was an opiate overdose, that can easily happen if taking say oxycodone and perhaps cold/flu medicine. We give it out at our hospital and have to have Narcan in our Pyxis in case somone overdoses ACCIDENTALLY on it. So if drug overdose, it could be an accidental one and I blame the pharma companies as doctors pass out oxy Rxs LIKE CANDY. i

so freaking brilliant. Some folks are good musicans, others are good writers, others are just good showman, very very rarely do you get all three in one man. He also plays drums and piano like a beast too.
