Okay, I see that facts have no impact on you so I won't discuss this any further. |
NP. So what is his plan for K-12. |
I'm the first pp in this multi quote. He doesn't have a plan. But he does plan to get college students to vote for him, while falsely making them think that he will fix the college debt problem. He won't of course, and will just make the inequality gap worse. But not one can acknowledge that. It's obnoxious. |
There's tons on education on his website. Nothing earth-shattering in K-12 aside from tout his Bona fide opposition to NCLB since Day 1 and resistance to common core. If describe HRC's in about the same terms though it has been weeks since I read her page on it.

However, only one of these two candidate is actually working with state parties to get more down-ballot Democrats elected, and to ensure that the Congress they would be working with is as amenable as possible to a progressive agenda. |
If we are meant to judge Sanders on his "whole career," should we also look at his writings for clues as to his feminist bona fides? "A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy. A woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused. "A woman enjoys intercourse with her man — as she fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously." ![]() |
Oh come on... Not that again. Please show some maturity. That article has been beaten to death and has no bearing on anything. |
Oh come on yourself. On a thread in which OP claimed that Bernie is the real feminist, seems pretty relevant to me. |
...plus it was in direct response to someone who said the great thing about Bernie was how consistent he was on feminist issues. In that case, bringing up his previous writings seems very appropriate. |
Okay... sigh... he wrote it 40 years ago and it was meant to be a critique of gender roles and the negative effects they have on people's sex lives. He has said it was written badly and he explained the intent which was good. A poorly written article hardly compares to the bad policy choices that Clinton has made. And if you really want to get into mud slinging there is much more on Hillary Clinton than Bernie Sanders but i am not playing your silly game today. http://www.npr.org/sections/itsallpolitics/2015/05/29/410606045/the-bernie-sanders-rape-fantasy-essay-explained |
The article is not inconsistent with feminism. He is writing about the negative impact of gender on sexuality. It is just written very badly as he has admitted. |
Should have learned by now, that op can't handle criticism of BS. Her rules are that she gets to attack Clinton and she ignores all rebuttals and makes the same criticisms Overland over for dozens of pages. |
I have criticized him myself on this thread. I just have little patience for these childish games. That article is completely irrelevant. |
I think it's unfair to Sanders to quote the incendiary parts of this piece without noting that Sanders is really calling for something more positive. Read in fair context, it seems clear the incendiary parts are meant to grab attention and reflect a reality that Sanders is suggesting we try to shed. Yes, it's bad, melodramatic 1970s writing, but it's not intended to denigrate women. I know some Sanders supporters will lift quotes out of context to unfairly attack Clinton. So it might feel justified to cite this piece in retaliation. But I think we Clinton supporters should stick to fair discussions of the issues. I believe Clinton prevails over Sanders on a fair discussion of the issues, so let's keep it there. I hope Sanders supporters will hold themselves to the same standard of conduct. - Syd (Clinton supporter) |
No one has lifted any quotes of Clinton's unfairly on this thread. The Clinton supporters have posted plenty of ridiculous stuff, including comparisons between Sanders and Trump which made no sense whatsoever. The ugliness has been one sided unless you believe it is an insult to say that Clinton is not what I consider a feminist but some people would see that as a compliment. |
