Oh no! I'm currently campaigning for one right now!

That's funny! 3 years going strong and it is one of my favorite purchases for the kitchen!

Love my vitamix! I use it daily.

What is AG?

My kids have 4 AG dolls (American Girl)- all "used". We still probably spent $300 though with tons of clothes.

What I think is not a waste of money and I hope I don't regret my decisions:

Parochial elementary/middle for 2 kids (oldest is in 6th).
Super expensive piano lessons for a 7 year old $300 per month. 7 year old sounds great though .

Attorney general. Kids think they'll play with Eric H. Holder Jr. forever, but in reality he gets boring pretty fast.

Comment of the day winner!

Exersaucer -- kiddo was not impressed, and typically wanted out within 10 minutes. Pretty much went unused.

1.) High end appliances...they didn't preform any better and had a shorter shelf life then my middle of the line maytag ones beforehand. I am a pretty decent cook so I thought I would be able to tell a difference and really enjoy them but it just wasn't the case.
2.) Montessori preschool for DC 1 and 2. It was not a bad school, just super over priced. I found a little church basement preschool for DC 3 that did the exact same thing for about 60% less.

I absolutely hate my Samsung dishwasher. The only cycle that cleans anything is "heavy". I started it this morning at 10am and it is STILL RUNNING AT NEARLY 1 PM. The prongs also make for awkward placement of dishes/pans. I was SO much happier with our Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher in our previous home but DH wanted all Samsung.

Samsung is considered high end for appliances?

Yes, they are trying to get in the high end market. It will take a few years but eventually they will perfect it and give the high end companies a run for their money. Basically what they did for washer/driers and fridges.

NP. I will never purchase another Samsong appliance. Both the diswasher and installed microwave were horrible. I ended up trading down and better for a Maytag.

+ my samsung washer is horrible. tons of dirt and sand left in the bottom after washes.

Another one for laser hair removal. It's all grown back within two years, and I had it done at 2 different high-end derm practices. So annoying to have gone through the money, the time, and the discomfort for nothing.

Buying another main residence before my other one sold because Realtor convinced me it would sell overnight.

very expensive and long, drawn out mistake. that was 11 years ago. still have that fucking house. now I'm an accidental landlord. the house is not located in the DC area, rather in an area that never saw the super high real estate prices. Now getting ready to sell it, and "hope" to walk away with my downpayment and paid-down principal.

Our brand new Samsung $2500 fridge died in 4 years. Never again. New house has a kitchen aid fridge and Bosch dishwasher, love both!

I'm the PP who said the Vitamix was a waste. It's a great appliance, but I don't use it enough to justify the price. I'm sure I could've managed just fine with the Ninja or something.

Also, I'm having some trouble getting it to work with low-volume stuff....but that's for another thread.

Ouch. That's rotten.

Best of luck when you sell it!
