Any MV families considering a move to Bancroft to avoid horrendous commute next year?

13:42 - Sorry to hear you have such a terrible commute! This makes me more worried about going the reverse way (from CH to new MV location)

Thanks, it actually wasn't to bad today.

I went Lamont, down 16th, across Q took me 25 min at 4:30 (didn't leave as early as I wanted to)

The trick is to really stay flexible and have 3 routes you can take. Avoid Florida at any costs.

Is there any green space near the new facility?

They should have some gardening areas on the property, they are working to help create a community garden, there are fields a couple blocks away, the Macmillan park is about a mile (within walking distance for them), and the arboretum is a short busride away.

There is a field that takes up 1/2 of the entire block on 1st NW and N St NW across the street from Dunbar. The field has softball diamonds and is big enough for several soccer games. The other 1/2 of the block has basketball courts and 2 playgrounds.

Dunbar also has a brand new Olympic size swimming pool that rival's Wilson's.

The pool is absolutely gorgeous. Now if they will just open it up to the neighborhood on the weekends like they promised...

I did a trial run to the new location from the Walter Reed area twice this week using two different routes. Needless to say, I will be declining my spot. We could stick it out for 5 years and have a 5 minute walk to the MS/HS, but I can't see that happening for now. We were waiting for April 1, now we are waiting for May 1.

totally self interested I know but...which grade? I am sorry if you were really hoping the commute would work for you that you plan to give up a much coveted seat. Hope you have great other options.
