They're still airing the farcical 'Tarek and Christina for the holidays' commercials. |
Right? Ridiculous |
Oh, I didn't know it had already aired! I thought it was Jan 8? I saw the trailer and thought it seemed cute but didn't know one could see the whole pilot. |
I know it's old news, but all I want to say is that I'd love to go on Property Brothers. Especially the first 10 minutes where they have the couple salivating as they walk through the "dream house" with all of the perfect finishes, only to drop the bombshell that it's $200K out of their price range.
I'd react by saying, "Oh, really? In that case I'll take two!" ![]() |
I used to be obsessed with house hunters too but now I just can't get into it when the homes have no character and it's just fake. Once there was an episode in DC and one of the houses was in my neighborhood. I was embarrassingly excited.
Agree re: Rehab Addict, but sometimes there's not enough that's happened by the end, I think I've gotten used to the instant gratification that comes with the other flipping shows. |
Did anyone watch Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis on Bravo? Hands down the best. He always had crazy clients and he would have to stay with them throughout the redesign. He's hilarious but also came across as very real, giving the clients 'tough love' or helping to fix some relationship drama. But then he'd also fight with his partner and assistants. One time Ross Matthews was the client and it was amazing. Oh, and he's a really good designer. I wish they would bring that back... |
House Hunter has gotten so bad! It appears the guest say all the horrible things about the house their going to pick. |
My husband called it back during the spring/summer. He and our daughter were traveling and during some down time at the hotel they had the tv tuned to Flip or Flop. Our daughter thought her dad was asleep but on the tv Tarek said something to Christina and our daughter said her dad snapped up off his bed to look hard at the TV. After a moment or two he turned to her and said that if her boyfriend or husband ever used that tone with her then she should just leave and never put up with that type of behavior. Apparently my husband was pretty upset about it - I think because our daughter is a teen and it suddenly resonated with him that she is close to being grown. Anyway, when he got home and I had Flip or Flop on (the kitchen tv usually is on either HGTV or CNN), he predicted to me that he thought they would be splitting. It is too bad. Their retrospective show was very moving when Christina spoke about how bad things had gotten for them professionally and financially before the tv show helped pull them out of the hole. On the other hand, I really hope that Chip and Joanna Gaines do well. I like their show a lot and, wow, have they done a great PR job for Waco! Hopefully they've been awarded the Key to the City or something. And their kids are adorable! |
Ugh, Waco. And he's such a closet case. |
Except, they don't allow LGBT couples on their show, so there's that.... |
Does anyone remember Designing for the Sexes? Where a couple had totally different design styles and the designer had to come up with a solution that pleased them both? That was a great show - loved the host (forgot his name - Michael something.
Also Designers Challenge, the show where a family had a design project and three designers presented their plan and they chose the one they liked best. Current shows are lame by comparison. |
I miss design on a dime |
Why does the PP several posters up feel that the world must revolve around LGBQTXYZ??? |
Have chip and Joanna actually said no lgbt couples? Just curious...
I personally just find them annoying and don't watch, but I am not sure that they actually do discriminate on their show or if we just assume they do based on the pastor at their church. |
Plus, how many couples like that actually live in Waco, tx? |
