Do you poop at work?

Yes, sometimes you have to go, but get into the healthy habit of regularly pooping in the morning at home. Preferably before you shower.

How do you get in the habit of pooping at a certain time? I am 43 years old and have yet to figure that out!

I don't know how to answer this. We got in the habit as kids. I trained my kids from when they were potty-trained. I would give them a sippy-cup of milk in bed, and after they had had their milk, I would make them sit on the potty until they pooped.

Maybe start with some stool softener at night and eat lots of fibrous food and drink plenty of water? In the morning, drink your coffee and sit on the toilet to see if you would poop? Bowels can be trained to eliminate at a regular time. Try this during vacations or long weekends and see if you have any success?

. Are you kidding??? You think taking drugs to avoid pooping at different times is a good idea?!? His about eating more vegetables? That would make you poop. Listen to your body and treat it well!

If you have a healthy digestive system, you should be pooping twice a day. If a 43 year old is not certain when she will poop - I am assuming her stool is hard. Stool softeners will help her eliminate without straining. Fibrous food includes vegetable and fruits and whole grains. Drinking lots of water will also help to flush it out. My advice to try it during vacations etc. is so that she is not sitting for hours on a toilet on a working day.

Again, pooping first thing in the morning is a healthy habit.

Not pooping or pooping at work is a personal preference.

I travel a lot. And actually, while I LOVE traveling, one thing I don't like is that I usually get off my poop cycle.

This thread is making me think I'm weirder than I realized, by liking to have my poops on a regular schedule. I just feel off if I don't poop in the morning, after coffee and before getting dressed.

No - instead I hold it in until my stomach hurts so bad and usually just shit my pants on the commute home. I keep depends in my trunk.

My body is like clockwork, and you can bet I'm on the pot at 1:32. Thankfully it's a private bathroom (no multiple stalls). Not only does it feel good to evacuate, but it's the only time I'm alone all day.

See, I find private bathrooms more embarrassing, because when you exit who know who's gonna enter and it's OBVIOUSLY you who just pooped. If in a shared bathroom, you can stay in the still until everyone's gone, or you can assume it was someone else.

Even worse is when you go in after the stinky person and then someone is waiting when you come out and they assume that you were the stinker!

It was not considered very clean or hygienic if one dressed up for the day, and then had to poop. I would take another shower then, if I had to do that.

I have trained my kids the same. But at work I saw these women, rushing to poop after lunch and I was very put off. It is one thing if you have a stomach bug etc, but to do this everyday ...

However, I saw the same at DC's school. Lot's of kids came to school but needed to use the bathroom as soon as they were in school to poop.

So I am wondering - is this sequence of bodily functions and morning ablutions not given the same importance here?

Is this a joke?

Off-topic, but wouldn't you brush your teeth after you eat breakfast?

agree

And it's kind of gross to brush your teeth AFTER you take a shit. So if you're not going to brush after breakfast, then brush first thing - BEFORE the shit.

How about poop, shower and then brush your teeth? I can live with that.

I agree. Traveling, airplane restrooms, jetlag...all of these can throw off your poop cycle.

I feel off too (constipated) if I do not go in the morning.

I poop 1-2x per day every day. As a teenager and on into my 20s this was something that bothered me, but now that I'm in my 40s I could give a crap (as it were).

I cannot recall a time I have ever felt the need to use a public bathroom for a number 2. If you eat a healthy diet and are capable of organizing yourself then you have no need to be taking a crap at work or in public bathrooms.

Seriously? You assume everyone works a set regimented schedule. Ohh you have a routine do you? Weird. Some people work shifts, nights, afternoons. Thanks goodness your ER doc is there at 3am, when you have an emergency and heaven forbid may need to crap at work. But they are disorganized to not have their muesli and coffee.... Really. You are a bowel fixated creep.
