I watched in online after my daughter came home and told me about it. Try again bs'er.

Um, what? Lol. You sound absolutely crazy. I'd love to hear the longer explanation, though. They do live streaming of her classroom? And the teacher repeated the objectionable remark so that you could view it? Or what? (Hidden camera? Did you bug your kid's lunchbox/) Keep posting, please, this gets better and better!

Oh, and for the record, I call BS on "I watched in online." Lol.

Maybe she can post it on YouTube.

Lol, if your point is that you're unhinged, you have made it also. I will end with a natural segue: "what's so bad about teachers?"

It exemplifies why people like OP ask for the "most conservative private school." Many people choose private to escape nonsense such as the above, and they want to make sure they aren't shelling out tens of thousands for more of the same.

Hey, just for fun, would you give your opinions on:

1. Climate change
2. The UN
3. Gun control
4. The War Against Christmas
5. Gay Marriage
6. Hillary Clinton

Good thing it happened at a free public school, then.

I think we have bantered on another thread. It was tiresome then and continues to be so now. I will make one last comment and then I am out. It is pointless to "argue" on an anonymous forum with someone who is incapable believing anything beyond their limited view of the private school world. In any event, I did not watch my child's class on line nor did I state as much. I watched the video shown to the class on line. With regards to the teacher's statement re the video I did not personally hear the remarks. However, two other parents in my child's class confirmed that the teacher made the statement, and before you ask, no they did not hear the comment personally. Their children told them. I hope that is clear enough for you. You are obviously not inclined to believe that some teachers inject their own politics/views into a classroom and/or you are not concerned because you are aligned with the slant that some of us find objectionable. I understand, but crying "bs" doesn't make it untrue. It just makes you look silly and oppositional--and before you ask, I am not outing my child's school. I am, however, out of here. Carry on with your silliness.

Let me, in turn, suggest you are thin-skinned, and also suggest you think about home schooling given your fears about the educational environment in this area's private schools.

Serious question here, if you are still reading. Did you complain about the statement? It sounds as if other families did not like what was going on either, and that the teacher may have been using inappropriate contents etc for a middle school class. If you did not complain, why not? Is your child still at the school?

Well this should be easy for everyone to reach agreement then. PP, just post a link to the video that the class watched, and that you watched online. Then we all can see how offensive and one sided it is. And what comment did the teacher supposedly make? Please prove that too so we can understand your outrage.

I would like to know the video too. The poster did say what the teacher allegedly said, however -- something to the effect of "conservatives hate this video." Context is everything of course. If the teacher was discussing the controversy over the video, that might have been appropriate. (For example, if the video was something like "An Inconvenient Truth" it could be interesting to discuss the debate over climate change.) If the teacher just said "conservatives hate this" it probably was not the best pedagogy, but not earth-shaking in my view. If such comments were frequent, or maybe just to nip something in the bud, it might be worth talking to the school admin about the perception that the teacher was inappropriately injecting politics into the curriculum. If I were a young teacher and did something like that I wouldn't mind being counseled so that I could be a bit more aware of how I was coming across.

I too think the polar bear assignment is fine. Lawyer. What's with reflexive the anti-teacher anger?
