Enjoy whatever comedians you want. If supporting Trump interferes with someone's enjoyment of a comedian or entertainer or singer or a product, so be it. If you think that's ridiculous, that's about you. It doesn't change what someone else's chooses for entertainment?.

PP here. Just know that I'm definitely not a Trump supporter or MAGA and I'm pretty liberal on social issues. I just think social media is ruining many cultural events. In the past, we enjoyed entertainers for their talent and skills.

It's not social media. It's that the public is now able to learn more about people's habits and can make decisions accordingly.

Grew up in Upper Midwest and the Kid Rock "All Summer Long" totally hits. But hey, he has made a set of choices and I don't have to support that.

Yup. In the past the bad stuff was kept under wraps AND it was really widely accepted that people just looked the other way. It's easier to find out about bad behavior now AND things like "me, too" have called out people for that looking the other way and thinking it's okay or that you're still a good person if you do it. You aren't. Lie to yourself all you want, but when you look the other way, you are condoning the bad behavior and saying you don't care about it or who gets hurt.

People like the "talents and skills" PP are either naive or stupid that they don't get this. It's like saying that bad behavior is okay as long as you are super talented or they like your art. But would they give that free pass to a regular Joe? Probably not. It's a stupid double standard and they just rationalize it because they don't really want to think about the implications re: their own character. How is it any different than being a bystander who does nothing? It's not.

Sounds like he doesn't need any yahoos running around arguing his points for him, then.

Bully for Bargatze. I'm sure this will all work out without any impact at all.

Bargatze is a lover and a friend to all. He isn't a bully and he could care less about Trump and our awful political parties. He does enjoy watching professional fights but he isn't a fighter. Trust me.

Great, go give him your money. I guess that being completely stupid isn’t an act on his part, but I’ll never give him another dime. There are so many great comics out there, no one will miss him.

Comedians like Bargatze, Chappelle, and Burr don't care if they offend Karens because there are hundreds of millions of normal people who love them.

Sure thing. And Chappelle and Burr seem to be doing fine. I'm sure Bargatze will do the same.

+1 definitely

Time will tell, won't it?

Um, isn't he a bully to his wife for his weaponized incompetence. That's a fight alright (see the DCUM Relationships forum for daily proof). Or, is that just a shtick and he's 50/50 at home, just encouraging the folks in his audience to uphold the patriarchy???

No, actually, he is a great husband and father according to his wife. Chappelle and Burr's wives say the same. Bark another tree. All comedians aren't jerks.

Same demographics as you and couldn’t agree more. The left seems to think politics is this hill they have to die on… every single day, over and over again, with everything. Lol as evidenced by this entire site. It’s too bad for them.

It isn't the "left". It's a cancel culture developed by a very small minority of very boring people.

Hey guess what, people get to be ridiculous.

Nobody needs to be targeting Bargatze -- the information is out there, everywhere, right now. people can make their own choices.

But his supporters think he deserves to be protected from viewers making their own choices, like a charity case. Telling people they are dumb, that Bargatze is laughing at them and doesn't need them, but they'd better watch a comedy show against their own wishes is just peek ridiculous.

Let's see how that works out for y'all. I'll wait.

Chappelle fans understood the work of a comedian when the PC police tried to cancel him a few years ago and he is still successfully getting laughs and selling out anything he does. Comedy is comedy and comedians don't align well as targets for cancel culture because the cancel culturalists aren't the ones appreciating good comedy in the first place.

But the issue for Chapelle was the edginess of his comedy. Plenty of people respect and support pushing comedy boundaries.

Bargatze's issue is that he wanted to be at THIS White House, to watch an MMA fight because seeing it on video wasn't enough. That has nothing to do with the edginess of his comedy. You can't ride on Chapelle's coattails. He's no Chapelle.
