Nope. He ran over a security guard who took him out. A guy with a rifle and explosives in his truck doesn’t make explosives in a week due to revenge. This guy was on the FBI list since 2019, he never had good intentions. Again, why was he let into the country? Thanks lax immigration for that. What happened to his American wife? |

Are you following the news? He apparently purchased fireworks. The explosives in his truck were fireworks. Not to diminish the fact that commercial-grade fireworks can cause harm, because the absolutely can, but it sounds like you are under the impression that he built bombs that were used in his (thankfully) failed attempt to cause harm. |

Fireworks and gasoline. And it seems he sat there for two hours before getting to the point of doing it. I know many don’t want to hear it, but it is likely this guy, having recently lost loved ones in a conflict that is very, very personal to people from that region, was suffering from a mental health crisis that day that brought him to that point. Nothing justifies the action he ended up taking, of course. But in trying to understand his motivation, the foregoing seems to fit the details I’ve seen in the news about this incident. |

Yeah, it’s kinda wild to suggest that we exercised some commendable restraint. We slaughtered hundreds of thousands of innocent, civilian, non-combatants in response to the events of 9/11. We wasted trillions of dollars. The actual 9/11 families may not have pursued bloodthirsty revenge themselves, but plenty among us certainly did so on their behalf. And again, many war crimes later, none of the 2,977 who were lost on 9/11 were resurrected through our extended efforts in the brutal OEF / OIF campaigns. |
