I blame her for not getting DC statehood. #ThanksJaneese |

"When someone shows you who they are, believe them." |
| Yeah, no way Janeese is winning |
Did she really do that? I was actually just realizing that asking both of them: "what went wrong, what went right, and what would you do differently during Snowcrete 2026?" is both the only question that matters but also the most illuminating question anyone could possibly ask them. |
"us"? Bowser's a Ward 4 girl. She lives here and sends her kid to school here. There's no chance in hell that's she would screw over Ward 4 because of some rivalry between the Duffman and JLG. JLG just failed her first leadership test and is giving off serious Kamala energy. |
You're just going to get some bitter sock puppets here. You're better off looking in real life for actual info. |
I know. But at this point I'm just as interested in their COMMS team's take. That allows us to see not only the type of people they surround themselves with but also the way they approach policy. We'll never get a real answer from either of them anyway. |
Nobody cares about Janeese's autopsy of what went wrong because everyone already knows what went wrong. And nobody cares what she would do differently next time because a storm like this probably isn't going to happen again in our lifetimes. All people want to know is who is going to fix this shit right now. And when Janeese acts like this is not her job WHILE SHE IS RUNNING FOR MAYOR and WHILE SHE IS PART OF THE DC government, it just shows you that she is not a leader. Instead of stepping up, she passed the buck, which tells you everything you need to know about her candidacy. |
+1 I’m tired of the whining by people who sit in front of laptops all day and have no idea how to operate a snowplow or a thing about public works. Be original: Go criticize heart surgeons or something. |
Duffman! lol We actually don't know what went wrong. A lot of different things seem to have gone wrong in different parts of the city. There's also some things that people have claimed about going wrong were actually right or unavoidable. Understanding and caring about that question is what matters. You can't fix something unless you know what broke. Things happen. Unusual things seem to especially happen in Washington. How one approaches non-textbook circumstances is the only thing that matters. |
NP who doesn’t sit in front of a laptop all day. I actually go to work. As do many of my neighbors. But the city refuses to clean up the snow in my Ward 4 neighborhood. This isn’t just a corner with a pile of snow. I am not taking days off work to do DPW’s job, even if I could. |
Ok, where's your all's source for her doing that? I need something other than anonymous posts here that could be from anyone. |
Exactly. They waited like nine days to start hauling away snow and ice that had piled up at crosswalks with heavy equipment. Was that a mistake and avoidable? Yes. Also, they could have done a much better job communicating about trash pickup. Easily. I should not have had to receive a screen shot of a personal text message from DPW to know when and where the trash trucks were coming. And, to be fair, i still don't know when they're coming next. So, should an autopsy of this train-wreck (to mix metaphors) be conducted? Absolutely. I doubt anyone knows, at this point, what exactly went wrong and how to avoid such a s-show in the future. |

I’m tired of the excuses about the freezing sleep and amount of snow. This was a failure. The fact that nothing happened for several days after the initial attempted cleanup is infuriating. The same thing can be said of Montgomery County. Just north in Bethesda they’re finally opening up River Road by hauling away snow. When there are two lanes going each direction and they only plow one and 3/4 each direction, you are only left with one lane open in each direction. It’s like these people are idiots. And coming back now just proves that they know it was a mistake. The initial cleanup was pathetic.
In 1979 the mayor of Chicago was swept right out of office days after a blizzard with a failed cleanup. Chicago has never failed that snow removal since then. All of these local politicians should be ashamed and run out of a job. |
