White guy here who can check several of those boxes: Worked at a garage, did landscaping, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing work through college and side gigs after college, worked in a restaurant kitchen, was a volunteer firefighter for 10 years, became an engineer after graduating from college, well over 6' tall, brawny, bearded, outdoorsman, gun owner, and dated tons of women before I finally settled down and got married. And I'm a liberal.

Conservatives seem to live in some kind of weird fantasy bubble land and are probably unaware that many of the normal people around them that they interact with and depend on for various services are in fact liberals, but instead they mistakenly assume we normal liberals must be conservatives because we don't have pink hair and nose rings and whatever else they're told we liberals are supposed to have. Sadly many conservatives I know are small-minded like that. They certainly say a lot of really incorrect, misguided and outright dumb things about liberals in my presence when they aren't aware that I'm a liberal. Bear in mind that most of us liberals don't go around broadcasting that we are liberals, we don't share the right's strange cultish urges to fly TRUMP flags and so on.

Vance is literally a combat veteran of the Marines. Walz never deployed in any meaningful sense. As a female vet, I don't think you can say Vance is not masculine but then cite Walz's military record. My own service record is more masculine than Walz's. Walz is a liberal white woman's idea of masculine for sure, but he reads as too "pick me" to conservatives or males.
