Why are younger men so right wing?

They can’t be. They have actively villainized masculinity for the better part of two decades.
And if—as the lefts tells you all day long — “representation matters” then it might be a good idea of someone on the left would start realizing that demonizing masculine traits in men makes men who have those natural traits feel undervalued and marginalized by what is supposed to be their own party.

Try naming five examples of a masculine democrat male leader in n politics and you’ll see what I mean.

Young men feel abandoned by the left. It’s not that difficult to decipher.
But instead you’d rather demonize him or infantilize him by imagining that he’s gone crazy or is ignorant. He is neither. He just doesn’t buy into hating himself for having natural male traits like ambition, competitiveness, and physical strength. He also might like the idea that one should be rewarded for his own work output capitalist model of America that the left seems to abhor right now.

Likely not impressed by republican leaders. Trump and Vance are not masculine men, Pence is weird, and Obama and Walz definitely are masculine men and strong family men so this argument falls apart just at the recent presidential level.

There is a lot of marketing towards men from the right and kids want to be counter cultural to their parents. Plus as the previous poster said, they likely haven't struggled much. If they are a good person they at least know that many on the right in politics are not speaking in a positive way. You can have conservative values and still hate the political fighting, insults, and lies. There are conservatives that still hated Rush Limbaugh and his kind.

If you think the bolded, you have no idea what masculine means.

Football coach versus a twink who wears eyeliner and has sexual intercourse with couches.

You seem confused about which is masculine.

Only pussies internalize messages like that. Or those who aren’t very bright.

I realize cognitive dissonance is hard. But come on.

Oh so they should ignore the message? Maybe the messaging is the problem. Communication is hard apparently. These men got the message alright.

Because right portrays strength. They are young and stupid still. You can’t cheat maturity and wisdom.

Five masculine Democratic men?

Easy.

Gavin Newsom
Mark Kelly
Mark Warner
Jared Golden
Seth Moulton

It doesn’t get more masculine than the Marine Corps and astronauts.

That took me less than 10 seconds to make that list btw

Seth Moulton was nearly drummed out of the party for suggesting that having boys in girls sports was not a winning issue for Democrats.

Beating up masculine men for saying sensible things will not draw young men to the party.

Ruben Gallego
Josh Shapiro
Mark Kelly
Raphael Warnock
JB Pritzker

OP, is your son whiny and pathetic like this poster? All the whiny man babies can go to MAGA. Their victim mentality will suit them there.

Everything you say you hate about identity politics on the left is exactly what you’re running towards with Trump. That’s stupid. Also it’s impossible to champion capitalism with Donald Trump, the man who regularly interferes with private businesses and loves tariffs. He uses the government like a personal servant and those “manly men” republicans in Congress are fighting in line to lick his boots. It’s the opposite of masculinity.

Mike Pence started a think tank doing basic conservative stuff and it’s the radical upstart. Think about how far “conservatism” has had to move and how fast for that to be true.

He grew up playing football and basketball, hunted as a kid and to this day. Worked in a factory before college. Veteran. Football coach. Father of 2.

What makes someone masculine in your eyes? UFC spandex and roids?

Vance is literally a combat veteran of the Marines. Walz never deployed in any meaningful sense. As a female vet, I don't think you can say Vance is not masculine but then cite Walz's military record. My own service record is more masculine than Walz's. Walz is a liberal white woman's idea of masculine for sure, but he reads as too "pick me" to conservatives or males.

Its not just that. He is a strong family man.

You either don’t know what literally means or don’t know what a combat veteran is.

He is an adult, let him have his own politics. If he follows the trajectory of many Americans, his vote will change over time.

NP - what does masculine mean? Zuckerberg in his sad little fights? Bezos with all his plastic surgery and yachts?

Neither Vance or Walz experienced combat. Vance was a journalist and Walz was in the national guard.

I don’t know any young men who are maga or republican. They are all democrats. My teens know of one or two, they had to find one to do a debate with, but even he hates trump for ruining Republican Party.
Among the huge amount of young voters who chose spanberger, most were male.
OP’s son may spend too much time online watching crazy podcasts and not enough time with real friends.

Ridiculous. My brother-in-law played football and has spent 25 years in the Army. He's a real man by any measure. He's also as liberal as anybody - he's just quiet about it because he doesn't want to get kicked out of Trump's military.

Obivously these conservative men are filled to the brim with testosterone. Maybe if we pump their food with estrogen they'll start voting D and DCUM will stop complaining about right-wing men.
Anonymous
My main concern with right wing men is the misogyny - as in such extreme religious views, they expect their wives to obey them and "submit" to them like Charlie Kirk or Hegseth.

Also the racism, as exposed by the Young Republican chat.

None of this is on and those on the right should also be condemning this.
