Your comment makes no sense. If that was the case then Alabama would have much lower acceptance rates than its 75%…Ole Miss would certainly be lower than 98%.

I mean UConn is in a fairly unexciting cold area in a tiny state yet it receives 63,000 applications (more than Alabama) and has a 54% acceptance rate.

The Sun Belt from North Carolina to Arizona and Southern California has been exploding with population growth, while the upper Midwest and Northeast has been bleeding its native population. The former Lockheed Martin CEO is a Bama grad and they recruit heavily on campus. Hewson is a big donor. Again, a smart kid can do well at Bama and do it for free!
