Hey bot - so she’s an assistant coach and former Capital coach. Point still made, and you still sound like a moron.

Omg, Georgetown is an amazing university. Would be ecstatic if my child went there with or without lax

OK whatever so she's an assistant coach. Does that really make me a "moron" (definition: person with low intelligence)?? The point is that Capital has an advantage with one excellent university. Based on my own experience with Capital the girls do all of the work to get themselves recruited. There is little to no help from the recruiting director or coaches. If a college coach calls the recruiting director they will hopefully say positive things. A coach might call the recruiting director to say they have some interest and the director passed that message along via text. Based on what I have witnessed through my own daughter's recruiting journey and heard from teammate's parents nobody from Capital is out there proactively lobbying for the player. The players have to do that for themselves.

Been there. Done that. Didn't diminish her achievement in the least.

It's odd but there are 10-1 posts on here from Capital carnival barkers that say Cap is the best ever at it. Looks more like anyone posting that stuff has an agenda.

This is spot on. Most of these kids come from wealthy families, attend top private high schools and get good grades. Lacrosse/any sport gives them the slight advantage over other candidates. Capital does very little other than provide some name recognition in lacrosse circles. That is fleeting though, other clubs are producing much better players.

Capital brand helps get you on the radar but the rest is all the player and family. 100000%

Please just go away with your tired garbage. Both of you. We are here for updates on commits. They are to be congratulated. Plenty of other threads provide the opportunity for club bashing.

We had an entirely different experience from what you describe as did every one of her Blue teammates. Capital’s RC was engaged every step: proactively calling coaches and telling us where our daughter stood on coach lists so that we didn’t waste our time chasing long shots. Gussie also played with a number of active coaches and knows them personally. These relationships don’t get a player recruited but they help cut through the noise when hundreds of other players are trying to get the same coach’s attention. There is a lot of talent parity out there. Like anything, who you know is half the battle. What you know and nailing the rest is up to the player.

I’m sure the SR coach is also making sure her girls get noticed and is weighing in for her players as opposed to other coaches who might just passively wait to chime in. She is probably the best known in the area in collegiate circles now so that helps calls get answered. Congrats to the players on their hard work. Speaks highly of the program.
