That singing bus stops here |
An actual background check is going to take longer. Maybe a discussion PG schools need to have too. |
farce |
Are you and the PP telling us that in PGCPS you get to do orientation ( which would include having access), without even being previously cleared? You get fingerprinting, background screening at orientation? How "serious, business-focused" is that? |
It's actually rare that the Post covers MCPS at all any more. It's mostly smaller local sites that do. |
Agreed |
Same question I had |
MCPS Orientation always included 2 to 3 days, curriculum slides are included yes, it is a must, so is classroom set up training, looking at data, discussion of teaching moves, equity and technology basics. It is information heavy, I'm glad they find time to play videos of student interviews so that staff can understand the population they are about to teach. |
So MCPS = word salad and PGCPS = meat salad ? |
Biedleman? School lockdowns? Parents want to opt out kids reading materials? Supreme court ruling? This? |
| All the CPS check requires is a filled out notarized form. Maybe if MCPS included a station at orientation with a notary and the required paper work, we wouldn’t have almost 5,000 employees who haven’t been properly screened. Those of you saying that this is a farce or making excuses ….are you MCPS staff? Central office? I don’t understand why anyone would defend this. We should all want our students to be safe. |
MCPS’ issues are no different than any other district. They are just much bigger so everything is amplified. I’m not saying there aren’t concerns but they are similar to what is going on across the country. |
That's the only conclusion I can draw. And if they are MCPS employees, (most likely CO and/or admin) it's alarming that they're defending this serious breach of trust in the first place, and then desperate enough to come and fight anonymously with online critics about this major systemic failure in the second place. |
So basically, the equivalent of a first grader's "But everyone else was doing it too, so why do I get in trouble" argument. Seriously? How pathetic. |
